I don't think it'll be that bad, but we'll see. Slow will prolly get changed though.

Yeah it will get slowed.

30% casting time increase instead of 60% ;)

I see takolin trolling the wowhead mage forum lol.

You're going FFB at 80? You'll have to go by with Arcane for heroics at least if not your DPS will be low since you need like 14% hit to cap with FFB.

I'm hardly trolling.

If I read things correctly, heroic bosses don't require a lot of hit. Me thinks they're 2 levels above 80 thus, you don't need 17% in total but a mere 6% of which 3% are supplied with talents. I hope I can whip up 3% with blues from non heroics to be set or I'll need to pump up my tailoring from some hit rate.

Thus I hope I can spend enough time in them to get my 14% before any raiding.

Yeah just kidding. Oh yeah, I forgot Heroics bosses are lower level than raid bosses. You're right.

What was the conclusion of the thread by the way, I didn't get it. If I were to go FFB or Fireball TtW should I get Combustion? Or even using it?

Now that you mentioned it, level 82 hit requirement would be 6%... I can get that entirely with just talents. Time to make another set in equipment manager for heroics.

Well apparently combustion is worthless while using glyph of living bomb. But as FFB you hardly have a decent substitute. You could get blast wave and that's about it.
For FB-TTW You can get a point in the spirit talent (student of the mind iirc) and you'll be better off.

The main reason is sucks is
A: If you have around 50 crit raid buffed you only crit 3 times after 6 skills. But with combustion you'll crit 3 times after 5 times. Thus the increase after a certain amount of crit rate is negligible because combustion is lost after 3 crits and has a 3 min cooldown.

B: The crits of LB while glyphed consume a combustion charge. Thus you'd want to have the crits on FFB/FB because they're higher than the one on LB ticks but that's not happening.

Meh, guess I won't take it if I ever roll Fireball or FFB. Gonna pick up some fun skills like Blast Wave, Dragon's Breath or even Blazing Speed.

You can't take dragon's breath without combustion.

It's widly known that combustion needs to be fixed, it will be good again one Blizzard gets too it. People on the mage forums have been rubbing it in their faces.

Fire is still better dps in some cases.

Only go arcane if you have the 20K+ mana to support the highest rotation.

That would be optimal but I like Arcane style a lot. Not messing up on Evocation is a nice initiative for me to understand the whole boss fight.

  • Arcane Instability: Tooltip reworded to clarify design intent.
  • Burning Determination: Some Silence and Interrupt effects that did not trigger this talent will now trigger it properly, including Bash, Hammer of Justice, Shield of the Templar, Garrote and Gag Order.
  • Combustion: Fire spell misses will no longer trigger this talent.
  • Conjure Refreshment: Rank 1 food will no longer overwrite the drink buff from rank 2 food.
  • Fireball: Periodic damage from this spell can no longer trigger Combustion.
  • Living Bomb: Periodic critical strikes from this ability can now trigger Ignite and Hot Streak.
  • Mirror Image: The mirror images will no longer complete casts of Frostbolt on targets which are Polymorphed at the time their Frostbolt channel finishes.
  • Molten Armor: Critical strikes from the effect on this armor will no longer trigger Ignite.

First they removed the single target restriction on Living Bomb and now this... Arcane left in the dust? :/

Yep. It's back to fire for every mage that likes to raid sometimes.

Sucks, I like arcane.
