Any paladins here, what are your thoughts on Prot paladins. I just changed from Ret to Prot. I hear there are really no prot pallys.
Why is that?

Oh really? I don't see how anyone can be slow at leveling. I always quest with a friend and we level, well what I consider, pretty fast.

Prot pally main here, leveled the whole way as prot, did it faster then on my hunter. Nothing wrong with their leveling speed if you AoE grind your quests. <3
Last I heard prot pallies were the most common tanks around.
Anyways, ask away with any questions.

Same as above, I went prot from 40-70 and If you AoE the quests then its super fast and fun. Plus you get into the low level instances easy. Nec, I just checked the server topic and your on Cael same as me

I was just wondering. Is Holydin like...the cookie cutter pally build then?
Will prot pallys shine at all in Arena or BG or PVP? How are they for groups? Raids?

Dude please stop posting questions with that avatar. Everytime i read your posts i spend 10mins staring at it.
OT: I just started a pally on US and i will level Prot. Leveling with another pally who is specing holy, so we should be able to do anything together.

I just spec'd prot last night, and i'm loving every minute of it. Unfortunatly when I was ret I hardly ran out of mana, and being prot is well... frustrating when you have to drink something after every 2 mobs. I think I just need to learn how to play my char better as in using divine plea whenever im in battle and using judgement of wisdom more often.

I use Blessing of Wisdom or Blessing of Sanctuary to keep my mana up. Might have to pot every once in a while. But it definitely reduces the frequency of drinking. Wisdom for PVE, Sanctuary for PVP. I don't know about you guys, but I love Hammer of Wrath. So many more Final Blows with that skill. I was outdamaging 49 twinks in Arathi Basin at level 44.

Seal of Light for sure. and definitely Retribution Aura. That little bit of damage adds up. Combined with consecration, melees, and judgments, mmmmmm. I personally love throwing up a bubble and running into a group. So much fun. Seeing Immune like 30 times.

BoW for tanking? Seriously? BoSanc. 3% damage reduction, 2% mana back every dodge/block/parry. I use SoW and JoW when doing Heroics, and SoV and JoW in raids.

Even when I'm listed as DPS, ppl still ask me if I can tank or not, plus I kinda miss my tanking days in SRO. So I'm thinking of speccing from ret to prot but I want to know which base stat is more important: strength or agility. Str blocks more damage with a shield but agi increases my dodge and armor.
Which one?

Which one? I think Str for prots because of the shield will help your blocks and even if you didn't dodge, you'd be unkillable. Not sure about the armor.

Which one? Strength. More AP = More threat, plus you get more BV from it. Besides, you can't find pure Agi + Stam + Defense + extras plate.

I've decided to play WoW with a friend (he's a fire mage). Will I be able to party with him efficently as a prot Pally? Are prot pallys any good at pvp? Since in most games I've played, tanks get rolled in PvP. And finally, do any of you seasoned prot pallys have any tips for me?

Which Paladin is better for:
Leveling with a Fury-speced Warrior? (from 65-80) End-game Pvp?
Have I got this right; Retri - One-target-DPS Prot - AoE-DPS / Tank Holy - ...Heal only?

Have I got this right; Retri - One-target-DPS Prot - AoE-DPS / Tank Holy - ...Heal only? I've been leveling with an arcane mage since pretty much level 1. I level with ret because he does amazing burst damage, and with Righteous Fury, I can keep aggro off him and still do great DPS. From what I hear, ret pallys are OP in pvp, but I don't really believe that. Someone said that a combination of Holy pally/*insert DPS class here* is greattttt for 2v2 arena.

So which specc should I have then, as a Paladin, if I level with a Fury Warrior? We're lvl 65 now.

Doesn't have arcane more mana issues? My frost levelling spec has too much downtime for my liking. I can't imagine arcane being any better.

So I put together a mock build of how I think I'm going to go so far, what do you think? Keep in mind I've never seriously played WoW before, and I intend to do far more raiding/partying with 2-3 friends than PvP. http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#sZE0tAbu ... f0L:NLccz0

BV = block value.. amount of damage you absorb when blocking; 2 str = 1 bv
