This post is about my entry for the Diablo 3 deviantart contest mention here

Today I started working on my submission. I streamed all of it on http://www.twitch.tv/poehalcho
I decided to go with the demon hunter character as her design appealed to me the most and it felt like it fit best with the image that I have of Diablo 3 in my mind.
This is the concept I came up with:

The concept shows the demon hunter atop a building in a small town. Demons have just busted down the town gate and are charging in, slaughtering everything in their path. The hunter is aiming her crossbow at the demon chasing one of the guards.

Day 1

Call me slow, cause this took me 3-4 hours to make.
Made an initial sketch, then I redid ALL the lines again, straightened things out, etc
Ended up taking a lot more time than I was hoping for :( The drawing is 7000x3500 in size.
Anyway, I've got the basic setting set up and tomorrow I can get started on the real things. I'll probably begin by adding details to the architecture and add light sources and basic shadows.
I might also attempt a sketch of the demon hunter on the roof, although I can't say I'm looking forward much to that part :(. I suck at drawing humans, if I could just draw the city I'd be happier XD
This is more or less the first time I've been trying to make a real drawing in photoshop using one a drawing pad. I have to say, it's pretty hard. It acts very different from a regular pencil and I haven't gotten used to it yet. I have a habit of spinning my paper around and working almost entirely with vertical and horizontal motions, obviously this can't be done on the PC. As a result I've been having trouble making the lines I want to, my hands aren't quite used to these motions yet :/.

I don't think I'll be streaming anymore :(
The new photoshop is tons heavier, so with the addition of OBS it Bogs down my PC entirely. THe drawing Progress becomes even slower than it is already D:

Also I'll combine Day2 with Day3 since I felt tired yesterday and quit early :/

Aw. I like the current picture you have there. It's like some rabid pokemon lol But I understand. I use Flash Pro 8 for everything I draw lol Photoshop (CS2) for minor tweaks, Illustrator to become extremely frustrated and Coral Painter for the free hand tablet stuff.

I really wanna see the final product of your masterpiece though =)
