So... My philosophy teacher asked my philosophy class this question. When you think you are ready to die? Like, you wan't to have a family? Maybe a job you have always dreamed of? Or something else?
I myself can't come up with an answer. Maybe becouse I'm still just a student with no own family, job or house.
But how about you my beloved forum mates? When are you ready to die?
what the fck... she really asked you "Are you ready to die?", if a student next morning doesn't show up to class you can blame your bich ass teacher. maybe then she will stop putting shit on young people's minds.
ot: whenever i feel like i've accomplished everything i wanted in life

It's a philosophy class.
I'll be getting ready to die until the day I die. And even then I won't be ready.

Well actually she didn't let anyone answer for that question. But since it's philosophy class we ask these "thoughtful" questions and try to contest every single answer. And she didn't ask "are you ready to die?", she asked "when you think you are ready to die?". There's huge difference.
I'm ready to die today ... (no emo) I always wondered whats happening after this, I only hope I dont regreat that I left this life with unfinished buisness... but, who knows, maybe we all have mission to do here on earth, and cannot die until we do it... Maybe it has been all already planned.

well you didn't specify, that sure sounds alot lighter still it's a bullshit question though, what if you have a truly emo classmate and he kills himself and leaves a note saying "I was ready to die, thank you Miss" fck that man, fck that. and fck philosophy too. it's bullshit.
lol I imagine that question coming with a sudden move and a gun coming out and shoot my head off. It's not a proper question for a student, no one will ever say that he/she is ready to die in that second, or if they really say that they dont believe themselves either. death is something you can't avoid anyway so I think that's a stupid question anyway. A rational thinking would make me say that I'm always ready lol.
buuut, I still have things to do xD so no I'm not ready to die yet

Good, as long as she didn't let anyone answer that question then it's fine. It's quiet an interesting question. Many people wonder are they ready to die after accomplishing something in life. Well an advice for all of you, LIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE FULLEST, AND ACT LIKE EVERYDAY IS YOUR LAST DAY.

maybe that WAS the plan now you see why philosophy is bullshit, nothing is concrete. it's just loose opinion-based, head-cracking, bich-ass bullshit.

Well for that I have to say that philosphy is maybe the most civilizing subject ever. (After math ofc)

+1 Philosphy is about contemplating human nature. There is nothing more human than being conscious of your own inevitable demise, and pondering the meaning of life and death. Interesting question. I don't think I'll ever be ready, there is always more to accomplish
I think another question will be: "Why do we ever exist? If we end it up always with Death..."
This is true. All we'd every do is wander around this earth until our time is up and we die. What's the point in that? Surely there has to be some reason as to why we're alive.

+1
But after a few minutes the answer was rather clear, I will never be ready to die. My mind as it now has no endgame goals and is always looking to explore/expand so there is no end in sight with the understanding that we are bound to a fate and the me that is now will brake/won't exist one day or for that matter be able to function at which point I don't see a reason for any of that me to be around.
