Oh, but kudos to Micheal Phelps, who besides having a less then amazing Olympics this year, compared to last time, has just become the most decorated Olympian of all time.
Missy Franklin's 100m fly gold was pretty epic considering her race 10 minutes prior...
Ye Shiwen's 400m IM was way more epic haha. She swam the last 100m faster than Ryan Lochte did (Who smashed the mens 400m IM. A lot of people got suspicious though, but I think she's all fine.
im a little skeptical about ryan lochte, yea hes a fast swimmer but he beats phelps once and he is the next super star. i wonder if people realise phelps didnt just hit gold on the one event but multiple events...
Which rounds can you get a medal for winning in the olympics? i thought it was just the final but apparently not. So much buzz every 4 years and i dont think i have yet watched an actual game in the olympics (other than watching sprint/swim races on youtube)...lol

these olympics dont interest me as much as beijing*. all i've watched is soccer(football) and a few swims. amurrrica winning the medal count currently though so that's cool
the football isnt exactly the highlights lol but i thought china was leading the medal count? in golds and totals? (by the end of every day so far)
either way, the chinese have a "win at all costs" policy so no one should feel bad for getting beaten from them.
why does india do so badly? you would have thought they would do well considering they have a high population, the chances of a superstar should be higher
i've checked a few times when the us was up but it probably wasn't at the end of the olympic day then. china too strong. it's been pretty close the whole time from what i've seen though.
The British government had bugger all to do with the problems with Olympic tickets, go google it or read the news you might learn something.
I for found the opening ceremony to be a bit meh, but it was saved by the some-what comical moments. Also those comparing to Beijing, you are comparing a 450 Billion Yuan budget to a mere 14.5 Billion pound budget. I think we are doing all right so far. I can't wait till the US is the host one day and the world is gonna rip them a new one just because you are our favourite scapegoats.
100m final was just on. I think 7 of the runners ran a sub 10.
Spoiler!
Not sure if anyone hasn't seen it, but Bolt had em good. He definitely pinned his ears back with like 40m to go. No one was catchin him at all. Too gooooooooood.

@penfold; cause athletics isnt considered all that important in India, other than cricket. also most ppl are poor with barely minimum living requirements so they dont have time/money to do extra activities
Anyone have a video of the 100m dash...? and did Tyson gay get silver?

the british government had the responsibility of making sure the errors never happened. they decided to put the bid in, they created the comity of people and they said they could deliver.
its the responsibility of the british gorvernment to not allow the policing system to get fked up... or the involvement of business ticketing or boarder control striking.
Ok stop jumping the ceremony. No country in the world will ever be able to host a event like in China, they used about 25x times money more then the last 3 olympics together.

as well as the people... i heard they didn't get payed for performing or organizing where as in the uk they were payed to perform AFAIK
The Chinese will rule all sports in the future. The only reason they are not doing it now, is because their sport facilities (especially for the youth) aren't as well organized as other Western countries. That's why they can't extract the full talent of all of their talents. 1.3 billion people + very well structured sport/training facilities + infinite money = total ownage
