Can't say I was a huge fan of Linkin Park.
But damn... all these suicides are starting to creep me out.

R.I.P.

Heard about the band but don't know anything about rock/heavy metal or anything related to that genre as I'm not really into that....

If this was indeed suicide well at least he's not hurting anymore but I do feel sorry for the people close to him he now hurts by his decision...

i couldn't believe it either

it's really shocking for me for many reasons, one of the most important is the fact itself but.. besides that, being directly related to music and singing it really bothers to keep seeing talent just go away and none of it comes back, all these farked up indie shit bands...

and personally, it's like my childhood just suffered major blow, it really hurts. linkin park / chester's voice and feeling has always been associated to a specific age where i was discovering a lot of things, a lot of nostaligc feelings go along, a lot of dreaming, of suffering... it's really, personal, for me. i always go back and listen to "those songs" here and there and they feel like home.

this really sucks for me but i'm kind of a pussy and very emotional about these things, emotial/artistic darkness really touches me, it's so real you know, the pain

you suddenly realize at moments like this that you're growing old and that fairy tale you've been craving all along might just all be a messy tale of shit... or not, we shall let love save us all, i hope chester fulfils himself in a next life.

you do know that "none" is referred to a majority right?

or was it what i said about indie bands, may be haha

or do i need to be equally skilled to beethoven to critize something? i can technically justify myself in a couple of words if you feel like it

none = 0

I'll spare you the definition. Won't give you a hard time but you did say something silly =p. Also you are getting old, you old bastard; dreaming about the "good old days".

I think today is great, tomorrow will be too, and so will the day after.

Back on topic. They keep playing "Numb" on the radio, it makes it more of a bummer.

Like the part where the lefty failed to make an argument. Self delusion, such a boring behavior.

This topic is meant for Chester Bennington. Go start an argument on some political forum, not in my Linkin Park thread. I have no desire to discuss it further. You may insult me all you like but do it in another place. Thanks for your understanding.

Just curious but what was/is everyone's favorite Linkin Park song? My favorite was always "Forgotten" from their first album.

From LP's FB page:

"Dear Chester,
Our hearts are broken. The shockwaves of grief and denial are still sweeping through our family as we come to grips with what has happened.
You touched so many lives, maybe even more than you realized. In the past few days, we’ve seen an outpouring of love and support, both public and private, from around the world. Talinda and the family appreciate it, and want the world to know that you were the best husband, son, and father; the family will never be whole without you.
Talking with you about the years ahead together, your excitement was infectious. Your absence leaves a void that can never be filled—a boisterous, funny, ambitious, creative, kind, generous voice in the room is missing. We’re trying to remind ourselves that the demons who took you away from us were always part of the deal. After all, it was the way you sang about those demons that made everyone fall in love with you in the first place. You fearlessly put them on display, and in doing so, brought us together and taught us to be more human. You had the biggest heart, and managed to wear it on your sleeve.
Our love for making and performing music is inextinguishable. While we don’t know what path our future may take, we know that each of our lives was made better by you. Thank you for that gift. We love you, and miss you so much.
Until we see you again,

Yeah, I was so sad to hear the news too!

Just glad that I got to experience a Linkin Park concert before this tragic ending.

I'm not the HUGEST fan of Linkin Park, but as with many of you, I listened to so many Linkin Park songs growing up that it still feels really bad to hear that Chester died.
