Is it active? Are there a lot of botters?

Is it worth starting a new character there?

Yes, it's definitely worth it.
In fact, Ephesus is probably the best Silkroad experience you'll have anywhere these days (unless you want to play on private servers that open and close every second week).

There are 3 100% legit guilds on the server as far as I know. Bruderschaft, which I'm part of, is the largest with 50/50 active members. We are slowly starting our second guild up, since the first one is full and people are active.

Sure, there are a ton of bots. That's just Silkroad anno 2017, though. But you won't find more legit players on any other Silkroad server these days.

Also, leveling is quite easy on Ephesus, so catching up shouldn't take long. We also tend to get the majority of the unique kills, so just ask around in the guild chat to make sure you join the parties when someone has found a unique.

I was wondering the same, just started again on this server after 5-6 years away from the game.

Also looking for a very active English guild, lonely leveling with no one to talk to :(

My IGN is Thunder. Don't think there's a lot of PVP. For us in the legit guild, we're still leveling. I'm 78 at the moment :)

What's your IGN? Pm Thunder, Celestia, Civic, Cora, SirThirdteen to join our guild. Let them know you know me and you're from Silkroadforums!

What build do you consider the least boring in terms of amount of things to cast (and be efficient)? In SRO-R

For example warrior/cleric with all 3 warrior weapons

Is Force STR bow still possible? Since the mastery limit for CH seems to be twice the level you are and not thrice.

So, the way the Chinese skill system works in Silkroad-R is that Cold, Lightning, and Fire are now all part of one mastery called "Force". So if you upgrade one of them, you get them all. What was previously called Force is now a new skill tree called Recovery. Since, as you said, you can only have two masteries, you have to chose between either a weapon mastery and recovery or a weapon mastery and force. Since no build is good without force (fire, lightning, cold), you have to chose weapon + force as your masteries.
So what if you want Recovery then? Well, the only build where that makes sense, is with a pure int nuker with Force / Recovery. Yes, you'll have no weapon skills, but you can debuff + have all nukes and buffs.

If you want to chose your character based on having as many skills to cast as possible, I'd go with a warrior/warlock or warrior/rogue. Look them up on YouTube - they can be really strong!
If you want to go for something a bit more traditional, chose Warrior / Cleric or Warlock / Cleric.

I myself play a pure int s/s nuker with Force / Bicheon. But that's certainly not the way to go if you want as many different skills as possible :)

Exactly what I use Silkroad for these days :)

What builds are you considering?
Also, there's actually a few spots open in the guild now (2-3) for anyone interested.

Tried to PM you yesterday - no luck. But we might not be in the same time-zone. Did you have any luck PM'ing any of the others?

I think we should open an own Guild, because "Bruderschaft" is prolly full. Its a nice Guild, but full and there are many new players who like to join. What do you guys think about that?

To be honest with you (and I kinda hate this myself - I was level 80 after all), a few of us have moved onto the Warriorsway private server instead. Great support, stable, and a nice 90 cap 1x no-bullshit server (exactly what Ephesus should have been). Here's the thread: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=136180&start=0

Were you considering starting on Ephesus?

Silkroad R is going to be with JC Planet from August 16th. (Channeling service with Joymax).
Especially, JC Planet opens a new server, “Ephesus”, in Europe.

Does this mean only players in Europe or can someone from the US play?

Europe is the server's location only. Players from US should be able to connect.

I'm playing pretty casually but it's fun. Today I finally used zerk at level 18 (mostly because I haven't seen any giants). Haha

What people there are that respond when you say hello seem pretty friendly and helpful.
