Hi :)

Not sure if this has been asked before,

How realistic is SRO? When it is day in Jagan is it night in Constantinople? Does it rain only in individual areas or the whole map?

If you stall multiple characters [on diff. computers of couse] in diff. cities, could you post screens at the same times to show us the weather & time of day.

Also is weather computer related or does everyone see the same thing?

Thanks

My cousin uses a loader, which i pay him out about, but on the loader you can change the weather from sunny to rainy, and etc.

Weather is client based, not server based. Its night time in some places when its day, but you dont know that do you? because we dont run 2 clients and check if its day or night.

Better ask my cousin, he usually has like 15 clients open. LOL!

Cousin eh? :)

OT: I'm not to sure only time I was ever on sro on two different computers at same time was when I was plvling my wizzy. So hardly ever in different cities. I got to ask though, why do you need to know? just out of curiosity.

Once upon a time it rained in Hotan. I asked my brother, who was also in Hotan, "Is it raining for you too?"
"Yes," he replied.
Quickly, as soon as I finished buying potions, I ran to Roc Mountain. The skies were clear and beautiful, and my training session was bliss. The end.

From this true story, you can learn that, weather in the game is region based, so if it rains in Hotan, others in Hotan will see it too, same for Jangan region, Donwhang, etc... Weather in one region, is not the same weather for another region.

weather state is server side, but its just a number that a loader would be able to easily change for the person using it, cause i've been partying, with some mates and they are like great now it starts to rain, and it was raining and it started same time for me, same thing with snow which is regional, but from what i'v seen certain places can rain and others can't rain. But all the places that can rain rain at the same time, had my laptop stalling in dw and i was in sam, it began to rain on my screen and i looked over at my laptop and it was raining too

but i havn't gotten rain out in taklamatan, i've gotten snow oddly enough in the river there is one spot thats bugged where you can see snow if its snowing in kara

day and night don't matter in this game any more, i miss night, night only lasts like 1 minute now whats the point of that

^LoL

Anyways, yes SRO i think is somehow realistic in this way, since obviously they wont make it rain in the whole map, just specific areas because imagine that may lag several people im not so sure but thats how i think. And regarding areas it is realistic 100% you can google every city name in sro and you will find it existed or still does.

weather is the same for everyone in the same place so long as no one forcefully changes it.

Tho it varies town to town i think, which is understandable, they aren't that close together realistically i think o_o

Not realistic, because when it starts raining, your fire imbue should't work, but it does, so it's not realistic.

Chinese imbue is from the internal power Qi. It doesnt need to follow the rule "water beats fire". When fire reach at a certain power and the rain is not enough strong, there's still fire
Ex: a forest is burned but the rain cant stop it.

=> it's still realistic

Um, since when can we channel ice through our hands?

Pure warrior without sprint assault is the only realistic build >_>

The only irrealistic is the dead body. When u leave your body dead outside, it should be destroyed. But in game, if there is no inspection and u let your body dead ouside, your meat is still fresh, and the monsters dont eat your meat.

Day / Night mode is server based I think, how can you have quests you can only take when it is night? and the quest that only 5 people a sro-day can take?

The lighting imbue isnt realistisc either. If it is raining and you start your lighting imbue you would get tons of electricity in your body and in 0,5 sec BAM DEAD!

Farking unrealistisc game! gonna start play flyff instead!

hmm maybe true, but why aren't your hands burned?:D

And if the fire imbue is soo shot and you are wielding a weapon, your weapon should be glowing of heat, shouldn't it ?:D

I agree with what others said about the weather being server-sided. I play sometimes at my friend's house and sometimes it starts raining at the same time for both of us.

It would be cool if weather impacted the game. For example, while you are trading, your transport slows down while it is raining, and at night, your range of sight diminishes into a circle of torchlight. It would make the game a bit more spontaneous and realistic since those were real problems that travelers faced. Trading in the darkness would add a lot of suspense and fun, too, because you would never know when thieves would pop out of the darkness to ambush you. Hunters and thieves could also have special abilities, such as thieves being able to see farther, and hunters being able to 'sense' enemies in the night.

theives having night vison would make it more realistic? maybe if light sources affected vision, like the transports had a lamp on the side, or i'm cool with it just being a dark sky it makes it more relaxing to play at night vs day
