Aegis recently promoted to level 5 and has at least 10 openings.
We carry a broad range of character levels, from 20 to 70. Our biggest challenge is keeping "active" players. Therefore, when recruiting, we look for dedicated players who like to participate in the game, even if it is just talking with the guild as you grind. As the guild philosophy states below, we do not pressure anyone to level, donate items or gold, etc. Just play often and have fun!
Aegis is currently in the Cotton Club Union with Bloodline, Imperial, Conquer, GermanChaos, and MAFIA. As far as Unions go, if you want to be in the strongest on Oasis, it's either this one or the "other" one. Yes, some of the guilds may be of dubious distinction, and really, I could care less. In Aegis we police our own, not other guilds in the Union. So please don't join and tell me to leave the Union because "lolz, ZOMG, so fullz of b0terz". I've stopped giving a shit. There will be no botting in Aegis (it's rule 1)
Guild Philosophy:
In Greek mythology, Aegis was the shield of Zeus. In Latin, "Aigis" translates to "goatskin shield of Zeus".
In modern english, the definition is "with the support or protection of somebody or something"
Guidelines:
1) No botting: This is non-negotiable. Aegis will not now, or ever, be associated with botting...it is grounds for immediate dismissal if sufficient evidence is found. I realize that in order to reach higher levels, and in order for a guild to truly compete, botting has become a necessity. However, it will not be tolerated, and as such, Aegis will most likely never become one of the most powerful guilds on Oasis. I can live with that...and it leads to number 2.
2)Have fun: You will not ever be pressured to level...that is entirely up to you. If you wish to spend your days thieving/hunting/trading...go right ahead. As long as you are participating in the game and including guild mates when possible. The stipulation is that you must remain active. A guild is not fun when half the members don't play. If you will be gone for a period of time, all that we ask is that you let us know, and you will not be kicked.
3)Don't be a turd: I don't think I need to expound on that too much more. Represent yourself and the guild in a favorable manner. No harrassment/spamming/overall bad behavior will be tolerated. I have nothing against the 13-18 year old crowd, but damn, try to keep your punk-assness to a minimum. IT'S JUST A GAME!
4)NO MOOCHERS! For god's sake, the purpose of a guild is to band together and help each other. But do not keep asking the high level players to bail your ass out every time you get popped trading or ksed or..whatever. We will all help when we feel like it, but if we don't, we won't. If we are nearby or happen to be in the mood to avenge a fallen guildmate, we will. Do not join and expect a lvl70 escort to run 5 stars all day long. Most of the time is spent grinding, even just for SP. And if someone gets bored, they'll thief/hunt/trade and help out the lower levels. We still help out! But we can't spend all day with the high levels babysitting the low levels, that just doesn't work.
And if you start asking the guild for money, I might lose my mind and kick you. If you know someone well and feel like they might be willing to loan you, ask away. But don't start spamming guild chat with "I just need a 1 mill pleeeeeeze" I'm a cranky old man and have no patience for that.
-Must be english-speaking/typing. It doesn't have to be your first (or best) language.
-Doesn't matter where you live (timezone) We have them all in the guild
-Vent/TS is not a requirement yet, and may only be recommended in the future if the guild wishes to move in that direction.
-There is no requirement to donate stuff to fellow members..you have to make a living...sell it...or sell it to guildmates at a discount. But you will not be pressured to "give".
PM me ,Joe_Mama, or Glaxier in game. If you pass someone from Aegis, ask them about joining. I'm not up for doing interviews, if you want in, you are in. But it is on a trial basis. If you have read the above and agree with it, then I expect you to abide by it while you are a member of Aegis.
