i ahve a question on pk2 editing. if u Edited fire nuke 1st -> 3rd will so if u use 1st fire nuke would it have a power of a 3rd fire nuke? or it just for show?

hmmm awkward... i keep on getting 4A 4D 58 56 44 44 4A 20 31 etc... and it happens with wut ever i try :p... I did the whole equal thingy... and I pasted it all b4 the 23... wut could b wrong :p

though apparently even so it works for editting 2nd sword chain to 4th :3

:shock: This seems cool, LoL.
I will soon try editing the 3rd xbow rogue skill (the 320% one) to the chinese Strong Bow - Craft... Do you think it will work? Because IMO the 3rd xbow skill looks pretty ugly, and i really like the Strong Bow series.. :P
Anyways, I will try, soon I will tell you my results.

EDIT: 1st try: nothing changed but I think I did everything correctly... maybe tomorrow i will try again, and i will have more time to do this.
Hmm this dont seem to work anymore, at least with euro skills..
I would appreciate some help if im wrong. ^^

Hmm, i did everything you said, I followed your guide the best way I could. I did everything, and after i tested and noted that nothing changed, I extracted from my (being used and modified)media.pk2 the skilleffect, and the changes I did were there. The first time, I tried to make the "skill_eu_rog_bowa_range_a" look like the "skill_ch_bow_power_a". It did not work. The second try, I tried to make the "skill_eu_rog_bowa_range_a" look like "skill_eu_rog_bowa_range_b", but I didnot notice any diference while playing, and as i said i checked the media.pk2 to see if the changes were there, and they did. I noticed some text before the skill name(on the same line), and i thought that maybe it wasnt working because of that. So, the third time, I tried to change only the text after the skill name. But it still didnot work. :banghead:

Here is a suggestion. Folow the guide EXACTLY, the way i did in the guide. By that i mean i was changing lightning nuke to cold nuke in the guide. That should work. Maybe chinese can't change to euro skill, or vice versa. Then go to donwhang or a pvp place and ask someone to kill you with said skill (i had to do that once :().

Or Maybe you're changed "SKILL_CH_BOW_POWER_A" to "SKILL_EU_ROG_BOWA_RANGE_A". I think i made that mistake once.. On another suggestion, there's super special awesome PK2 tool that is somewher ein the guide section, maybe it'll make your PK2ing easier :).

nice guide, helped me out most of the time, but now ik have a problem, is there NO other way to make you filesize smaller then just deleting '//' ? ive 1000 bytes to much and i dont wanna delete 2000 '//' please help my *** out :banghead:

of course there is a way.
Simply edit all other shots to make them smaller.
For example Ice storm (It's huge Farking ass huge...). Change it to a simple one shot fireball move (it'll reduce it to what? like 800bytes to 100?) And keep doing that for all moves. EG. btw this isn't a real entry.. >=O

Ice_Storm_Super_Special_Awesome_Nuke
Ice_Storm_Super_Special_Awesome_Nuke Shot 1 (bla bla bla)
Ice_Storm_Super_Special_Awesome_Nuke Shot 2 (bla bla bla)

im trying to change

the first book of anti devil series into the 5th book of the strongbow series.

im doing everything exactly like its discribed, but i have always the SAME bytes after changing everything.

and i cant save anything in the hexeditor. the first time when im trying to save something it says "cannot save the current file." and the second time the hexeditor f**ks of... -.-

Check out cruor's colour changing guide in sticky, it's labeled [Professional] with mine. After you know how to change seal colour, apply it to every skill u want to change. And you will have to do it multiple times, skills actually have a few different parts to it, so you'll have to change the colour of each skill individually.

this brings me back to the discussion if pk2 should be allowed on srf or not, the main reason why its currently allowed is because it does not harm anyone else.
what if you can edit your skills to show invisible or stealth chars? isn't this considered as an unfair advantage?

First off, that was completely off topic.
Second, "Brings you back to the discussion"? You haven't even posted in here before.
Third, I think you posted this in other places, go make a topic about it, not in here >=( .
Fourth, this is a SKILL EDITING GUIDE. How can it show invisible characters? That would be changing models and that's not even in here.

Really nice guide! It helped me to understand pk2 extractor a lot.
1 problem though, it doesn't seem to work for me. I changed the 1st lighting nuke to 2nd ice nuke, but nothing changed ingame. I just get the same nukes as before.
I did everything like your guide, but when I injected the skilleffect in media.pk2, it gave other numbers (after my 00 bytes)

Maybe because all the files have changed over time?

Hmm i tried this but i am looking for SKILL_CH_SPEAR_STUN_D (Soul Spear Emperor) and its not there.... it only goes up to C(soul spear soul) its as if this file is from the 70 cap, I extracted it from a fully updated Sro updated to 1.155 and it wont show me the final books -_- pissing me off... any ideas as to why this is?

For kSro skills you need to have the Data.pk2, Map.pk2, Music.pk2 and Particles.pk2 from kSro.
Then you can just edit everything, you don't have to worry about Media.pk2 because that one already has all the kSro skills.

Edit the codes in Media.pk2 or Data.pk2

this is good for changing the fire nuke to the last nuke but i dont think it can be used to do custom fire nukes...

no no! i do know how to but im just not sure which bits to edit in the nuke...

what do i need to change in the ice nuke to get meteor and what do i need to change to make the meteors go down in different places (diagonally) or at different times.
