Thanks nice guide, i will be making a a test char on Venus just to see if pure STR Wizard and Bard Pwns. If it pwns then i will continue on Venus :D

OMG, party play certainly changes once you've got mana orbit! It's amazing to be able to keep everybody's mana full and now be able to attack freely too (and ks your wizards :twisted:). So much more fun. :D

I'm still constantly surprised at how much my bard can tank. Went to my first FW with full level 90 skills, a good set of +4 gear, and tanked 2v1 9D glavier and s/s nuker, with only cleric buffs, no warrior buffs. Bard tambours rock! Took a darn rogue to take me out. ;)

All you bards, keep grinding. Its more and more fun as you level up. :D

Looking forward to the updates to this guide. :love:



And for you STR bards, get as much extra MP on your gear as possible. Mana orbit takes 15K+ to cast. :shock:

mana orbit takes like 10-12k doesnt it?

I mean, i know it takes 16k to use, but ugh... the bard's music life at 90 is about 20% reduce right? and using robes is another 20% so 40% of 16000 is 6400, so after both reductions, the skill is about 10k

correct me if I'm wrong though, maybe the music life isnt that high at 90 :S don't have it that high yet lol

Place him in robes: -20%
I'm not sure if music life affects the casting of mana orbit but at lvl 90 is gives a 31% reduction.
Code:
Description    Enhances the capability to dance or play the harp with passion for music to reduce the consumption of mana when skills for dance or harp-playing are used.
Skill LV 1    Lowers the MP consumption of skills.
MP Consumption 10% Decrease.


If it does work: A 50% reduction and thus 7948 MP.
Add int and mp to your gear, let a cleric buff you with int and it should work. And harp adds half your mp.

If it doesn't work: A 20% reduction and thus 12716 MP.

It costs me 14306 MP to cast mana orbit (Light Armour = 15896 - 10%). All bard passives are maxed. Apparently the Music Life skills don't affect the casting of this skill.

STR bards CAN cast this skill. A guildmate rogue/bard got to 90 first and I've seen him cast this skill (and keep a tambour up). It took his mana down very low so he had to be very careful to watch his reserves, even with the INT buff on him at the time. Every bit of extra MP and INT on their gear will help. ;)

It's do-able, because Mana Orbit recharge MP for all, including the caster. I would recommend having Rave Melody skill just in case STR Bard ran out of MP since u'll be having plenty of HP.

Im a wizard with sub bard now and Im going to max out both lines eventually etc. . .

I have a couple questions though. . .

I'm levelling on csro, and since its usually empty its impossible to pt up with other newbies so I solo. . .with soloing I have a couple of questions,

which mobs should I solo? the highest normal mobs I can one hit with life control? or the higherst mobs I can one hit without it?

with giants and champions (mostly just giants) how can I kill them without getting owned? im wizard main with sub bard and I only have noise, speed, guard tambour. wiz i have the fire, ice, and fear giving nuke earth barrier, teleport and the aoe skills and life control.


with sp. . .what is the best way to get it while levelling the fastest? (WITHOUT GETTINg POWERFARMED/using gt sp tickets quest as I currently cant get them atm) should I have a gap the whole way? if so, what gap should I use?

killing uniques: what are the strategies for wizard/bard and levels I should be killing each unique?

On another server I have a Wiz/Bard in 20's; I recall using the harp to grind because it a very fast attack rate and I would find the monsters that I could 2-hit so they die at my feet and I can pick-up items faster (if no pet)and not have to chase drops. Just using a regular attack on general monsters without spending any potions at all while grinding.

Harps can be obtained at reasonable prices too since they are not popular as a main weapon. Another bard I have is a lv 19 with a SoM lv 16 harm (1M) and I can 3 shot a red crab before it attacks me. I was called a thief by a Wiz too because I can kill before the fire cast is finished by the wizard (2 shots on green crabs).

Finally hit 90, I LOVE MANA ORBIT!!! That skill rocks, now I can attack freely and just have to spam my MO button every 15 seconds. Awesome! Bard is a totally different class with this skill.

1. Which mobs to solo.
- Depends. If you have noise skill up to date, go adventurous and solo at mobs that u can 1 hit with Life Control. Turn of LC as soon as u see a champ (if you want) or a giant (definately). U can lvl faster that way but a bit risky.
- OR, solo on mobs u can 1 hit without LC and dont have to worry bout anything. If you can get a good spot, it will be heaven. Throw in a couple of AOE attacks and u'll lvl faster too. Remember, kill rate is as important as exp per mobs killed.

2. Giants killing.
- It is fairly easy. Since u dont have bless like a cleric sub had, always carry around vigor pots. If you play long enough, u should realize vigor pots is better than grains. It have the absorb dmg thingy going on there. Always have ur hp pots at the extra function bars so u can time ur vigor perfectly in between hp potting / delay. Set ur hp autopot at 80 or 75% so u wont pot on the first hit. U will pot on the second hit but watch closely, on the 3rd and maybe fourth hit the hp will go down and go up again. That's what i meant about the absorb dmg thingy. Vigor pots have the same mechanism too. Use ur vigor when the countdown on hp pot goes down to 8 or 7. That should be enough to save u. One more thing, dont be too brave. If you need to run, just run. Get the giant later when ur hp and delay is done. Throw in earth barrier and fear when needed. One thing u need to know bout the fear skill. The higher lvl ones is AOE. It will aggro mobs. So, be careful with it. Good luck.

3. SP farming.
- Since u gonna solo a lot (u're in CSRO), ur farming method is different with me. I farm in a pt. Try to calculate how many sp u need per 10 lvls. Because noise, tambours, dance, speed lvl up per 10 lvls. Have 3-4 gaps per 10 lvls. That should be ok. But u'll have to farm more for wizard too. So, good luck with it.

can anyone explain why equipping a harp automatically increases ur base mana pool by 40-50%?

i cant find any bard skills that have passives to suggest this reason...

I am wizard/bard and I think to take bard nukes at cap , but I have question: What is ur pvp as bard vs. capped wizards? Do u 1 shot them? Is it the matter of 1st shot? Do u kill or they kill u most of the times?

I can usually one shot a cap wiz, if there are no outside buffs I'll win, my nuke always gets off first and with my mana tambour, that's enough for me to survive even if they do get a shot off for me to get a 2nd shot if necessary.

You have 150% mana (yes, +50% increase) if you wear a harp.
