I would have become more active on here again to become a mod, but playing sro again, I'm not willing to do that. If that ends up being OK, my offer will stand, I do still enjoy these forums for the most part.

If the forum absolutely needs someone who still plays SRO, I'm willing to offer my services, but I don't think I've been a member long enough to warrant being a mod.

time on the site isn't an issue it's whether you think you will be a positive aspect of the team, and ofc whether they think you are right. i applied without playing sro but just 5 more days and i'm going to relax to some sro when i am home :P but seriously if you want to put you're name forward do it.

be fun to do it like a democracy and each of us has to campaign for it :P

Well, like I said, I'm definitely willing to offer my services if needed, but if someone more "qualified" that still plays SRO were to volunteer, I have no issue letting them "run undisputed" so to speak.

Fair point i just meant don't feel like you can't apply as you are new, it's open to all

Understood.
I guess this can be considered this my "official I'm willing to volunteer" post. I do meet all the requirements, including the Silkroad one.

Ask Ryoko, none of the other staffmembers were involved in this.

It is still in the works. Sorry for delays, been busy with the holidays, family, work and all.

I expect to have some news within a few days here!

All things considered, yes. I worked through the holidays, survived a nasty street fight with someone in a drunken rage, have been sick with the flu and I'm surrounded by drama. So I suppose I have money, I'm alive and healing, and the rest is bullshit anyways.

Aye!

I just realized why this thread hasn't been closed and the mods haven't been picked, Ryoko is obviously waiting for me to apply.

Therefore, I volunteer as tribute. I not only meet the above criteria, I exceed it.

Edit:

Site Discussion needs a bit of help though, it's the only place normal bots can post.

Just give me the ability, and I shall purge this infestation from our fair forums once and for all. All spam bots shall fear me. And we shall have a millennium of peace and prosperity.

As a long time SRF lurker, I am interested in seeing where the boards go next. Definitely some old school and consistant names applying for Mod though, so that is a great start!

tbh i recon you could stop them by not allowing unregistered members to post links, a simple script could do that, or even a script that detects repeating words as usually these bots repeat key phrases a lot to try attract people to click them

Yeah, it wouldn't be too hard to improve "security" measures around here.

Post subject:  Re: SRF Moderator Roundup 11-2012

^They aren't unregistered as far as I can see. It should just be made that you can post nowhere(as opposed to Site Discussion) without an avatar and a location, because only a few bots do that. And maybe also include a sig in the requirements.

Post subject:  Re: SRF Moderator Roundup 11-2012

Or just not links at all in site discussion there is no need tbh plus the key phrase checker in site discussion only.

Thank you again for your interest and those who volunteered.

We've promoted two global moderators.

XMoshe has been a member of the community for a very long time and will do a fantastic job helping moderate these forums.

Crowley is currently our SRF herald and has been on the staff for almost a year now, and will be helping on a higher level as a global moderator.

Welcome
