Gotta say I like the sniper class, I was doing great in Huttball, got 22-1 and 20-3 in two rounds of it.
I'm only level 12 as well, so its funny being able to take a higher level down 40ish percent in about 6 seconds.

I got my Sith Juggernaut and Sith Sorcerer to the same levels and exact same point in the story. Not sure which to continue :(

Juggernaut feels more powerful and fun to play (gameplay) but the Sorcerer feels a lot easier to play and with a better story.

I think I might just switch between them each time I complete an act.

Not sure why my guy's eyes are dark in this one, they glow bright red with sith corruption like my sorcerer:

And just for fun, comparison with sith corruption. I didn't realize how grey it made my guy:

The UI looks sort of cartoony. Not feeling it. Can you customize the shit out of it with addons like you can with WoW?

Yeah it's pretty tight.

Cybertech can make podracers. You use them at the arena to race other people (it's like PvP). Each pod thing has it's own skills and upgrades. You win money and commandations for gear when you win races. As you level up piloting you unlock new slots in your pods; cybertechs also make mods for those slots.

There's also a quest you can do that will give you the riding ability to use pod racers as mounts at level 50.

Image

EDIT: I found this screenshot of my guy with the pilot title. I got it for reaching #1 on the weekly podracing leaderboards.

33 is when I stopped playing. I got to 30ish before prerelease, and 33 before Christmas. I slowed down and stopped playing thereafter; the game felt slow and not as fluid.

I figured it was because I skipped some things and I wasn't strong enough (all my quests were red).

So I rerolled after a 2-3 week break and got to 33 in a couple days on my 2nd character. I felt the same way once I hit that point again.

I decided to play my original character and just grind through it. After I hit 35, everything flew by so quick. The problem is that with the end of Act I, all of your leads and loose ends close. You need to restart the story to get back into the groove and it's not exactly obvious on how to do that.

I'm going through the same thing again near the 40 mark - I have to grind through to get strong enough to start on Belsavis and back into the groove.

What you need to do is all the bonus quests, being overleveled is the way to go. I enter planets 2-4 levels above the minimum requirement, and everything is relatively easy to do.

lvl 50 powertech here, just got to 50 last week :D, 7/14 champ, 1 cent , 52 valor. server is so dead as swtor in general is losing subs, due to my timezone and no more holidays i cant play at peaktimes and get into wz and occasionally i am the only imp on planet ilum. server has higher empire pop but premade bm pubs dominate ilum and wz. valor trading is rampant, as i was abused by other imps for "interfering" in a "friendly duel", as i collect crates, i see 7 other ungeared pubs also collecting and they dont even bother trying to attack me and another imp, so much for the state of this server.

I was actually under the impression that the game was still gaining subs.

Whats your source to say such thing as the game is loosing some?

1 of your friend left? -_-

There is still 1.7M subs as of 1 february over the 2M games sold.

ok english might not be your first language, perhaps i should have said swtor is losing players, but do the math, 300k people have already stopped playing after one month, i know 4 people from aion that subbed 6 months and all of them have also stopped playing so that doesn't count to the subs lost, my guild of 120+ with 50 very active members now only has like 15 active at any time, im sure it is like that for many other guilds in other servers, i have 50 imp in west coast server and a 29 pub in another west coast server. even if you haven't made it to the end game, it is very easy to see a substantial decrease by just noticing the pops in the fleets, i have noticed them drop substantially even after the "free" month.

anyways despite of all this, i am still enjoying this game somewhat trying to get my daillies done and gearing up slowly.

Not every guild is typical of the overall game. I can't comment since I haven't really had time to play the game since the week or two after it came out.

How's the pvp mechanics in this game? at first glance it almost reminds me of Star Wars Jedi Academy (if anyone played) where you can actually parry peoples attacks with your sabers and it involves some skill into fighting (not the usual pvp in MMOs.)

Curious if someone can explain it best they can or direct me to something to help explain it?

Atm pvp is pissing me off. There is two types, open world pvp and warzones.

Open world pvp is on Illum, which is the worst because it is never an even match. Either there are too many imps or too many republic chars, it isn't fun and the mechanics behind it is elementary at best.

Warzones are move fun, but the random grouping is really just stupid random grouping. Your team can have 0 healers why the other team can have 3 and you end up getting destroyed.

They really need to fix end game or I might unsubscribe.

Well I bought it with some others to give it a try while I wait for Guild Wars 2, so guess I'll see for myself now.

It isn't that it didn't live up to the "hype", its just the game is still incomplete (even after all these beta tests). The 1.2 patch looks very promising, with UI updates, cross server selection on pvp and raids, important bug fixes, more guild stuff, graphics updates, etc

I fear swtor had a similar fate to what happened with dragon age 2, EA probably rushed the release on a game that was incomplete. Hell, the engine they are using for the game was incomplete when they started using it.

I'm not saying I wouldn't come back if I unsubscribed, it is just I would rather wait it out until they fix important issues instead of rage quitting for a lot longer.

edit: however, if this storyline and PvE in this game is still the best I have seen. Just playing the storyline of all the chars could keep most busy for months

Just got the game and will make a Jedi Shadow on The Crucible Pits server with some friends. I read on the forum that when the Australian servers are released, people that imported the game and play in Australia will be able to move their characters across source: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=574005.

Do you think they will actually go through with this and let us do it. Anyway game looks awesome installing now and can't wait to play!

The storyline is definitively a big plus but no one pays monthly fees for a storyline.
