BuDo wrote: How is this game doing anyways?...Did it live up the hype?..It looks amazing from what I've seen...I just wish it was a full mmorpg with a persistent world... fighting/questing with other players anytime anywhere in the world....also with added maps where you're outside as oppose to being in dungeons... Honestly, the most recent big update fixed a lot of the major issues that were there when the game launched. If you were to get into D3 now, you'd probably really enjoy it. Unfortunately, and I assume I'm not alone here in thinking this, the patch was too little too late. Those same glaring issues that were present at release took too long and killed the experience for a lot of people. From terrible monster affix combinations to shitty gear drops to a billion other things, it was a huge letdown after the amount of hype that this game generated. The online only thing was also dumb. I have a decent internet connection, but it goes out from time and because of that, I couldn't just hop on D3 and play if my connection happened to be down. I'm sure you'll hear mixed reviews and opinions about it, and like I said, if you're getting into it now you'll probably really enjoy it. The magic was lost for me though a couple weeks after release when shit was still messed up.

Said this so many times now I've lost track but, what this freaking game needs (even though I'm still playing it actively) is a god damn ladder system like in D2.

The two last patches fixed the game to a point that it is really enjoyable. Most of my friends that were playing pre 1.04 came back and we're doing uber runs quite frequently!
D3 FTW!

No. Game wasn't broken at all. IMO the game was fine, it was just people crying left and right for free candies. What happened is they released a really hard game for hardcore players, then reduced the difficulty progressively to let casual complete the game and have fun. As it is atm, the game is fine for both hardcore and casual players.

Yup, patch 1.07 brought what looks like some pvp. Nothing is ranked though.
I'm reaching master prestige on CoD BO2 probably this weekend or next week, then I'm hoping on D3 until Heart of the Swarm is released.

Now that I got my new computer all set up I think I'm going to reinstall D3 just to kill time between SC2 and Black Ops.
I hope PVP is at least somewhat balanced.

@vietxboy911 - Barb is the easiest to farm, high damage, high mobility and good sustain, but only one real viable build -- Whirlwind - Witch doctor is good on low MP's, high build diversity - Wizard if you want a challenge, critical mass or archon build is most popular - Monk can be nice, mild build diversity (recently buffed, haven't played with improved skills yet)
As for pvp, DH and WD op, wizard and monk good, barb just plain bad, no burst

I redownloaded D3 after reading some of the latest patch notes. It seems Blizzard finally got their shit together.

Well played Blizzard. They wised up and realized I canceled my Annual Pass early and thus downgraded me to a Starter Edition of D3.

Quote: When we initially designed and implemented the auction houses, the driving goal was to provide a convenient and secure system for trades. But as we've mentioned on different occasions, it became increasingly clear that despite the benefits of the AH system and the fact that many players around the world use it, it ultimately undermines Diablo's core game play: kill monsters to get cool loot. With that in mind, we want to let everyone know that we've decided to remove the gold and real-money auction house system from Diablo III. We feel that this move along with the Loot 2.0 system being developed concurrently with Reaper of Souls™ will result in a much more rewarding game experience for our players. We're working out the details of how the auction house system will be shut down, but we wanted to share the news as soon as we made the decision in order to give everyone as much advance notice as possible. Please note that the shutdown will occur on March 18, 2014. We will keep everyone informed as we work through this process. Josh Mosqueira and I wanted to provide everyone with a little more information behind this decision, so please have a look at the video, and stay tuned to this site for further updates in the months ahead. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/10974978/

If only they'd do the same with WoW and remove LFR, then maybe they'd gain a subscriber back.

Wow is probably the most successful game in history, they have reason to stick to their ways.
