While most halo games are over hyped and average at best. This one seems the worst of the lot...another trillogy just to make even more cash, no thanks
Halo 4 Trilogy What?
Yea...its going to be the start of a new halo trilogy. I guess bungie needs more cash
This trilogy was actually planned since Halo 3 development to bring forth the forerunners into the current universe. Also, 343 was around for a long time before bungie and microsoft ended their 10 year contract. Bungie is still around.
Every Halo game is an improvement on the last Imo. Both Multiplayer and Single player. The story is vast and ongoing. The multiplayer is now tied to the singleplayer as well as spartan ops. Mater Chief is back and as awesome as ever.
based on the bits i've watched over the weekend there's stuff to like and dislike about this game.
big ones: jetpack. breaks maps entirely, nobody could ever justify this kind of thing being in a shooter to me regardless if the maps were designed with "it in mind" it makes map control absolutely irrelevant. i'm glad you can't hover in the air for an hour and a half anymore and all, but it's still broken and i'll scream bloody murder every time i come across it.
quick, smooth animations. if you watch all the animations are so much faster than halo 3/reach allowing you to do more in less time and i'm guessing it feels a lot less clunky. makes for chances at a lot of big plays, i love this.

either way, 10 hours from now H4LO goodness
I've never liked jetpacks. Ever. In almost any game.
Finally smoother animations. That's really what turned me off about Halo 3 and Reach, everything felt clunky and slow. Almost like they tried to make it too realistic.

initial thoughts after a couple of hours of infinity slayer: maps are pretty decent, i like two of them, sort of dislike one, undecided/meh on the other two. seems to only be 5 maps in the most popular playlist by far though.. that's an issue as it will get stale quicker than it should. i know two of the maps at least would work for 4v4 slayer that aren't being used in the rotation.
don't sleep on the assault rifle, it's ridiculously strong and kicks zoomed in rifles up a LOT and has really good range. AR users were good at frustrating me.
things i experienced firsthand that i'd label broken as shit: don't know the exact name, but promethean rifle that glows a red beam that blows you to chunks from short, medium, far range in one swift shot.
promethean vision is anti fun. second most popular alternative, jetpack, anti fun.
shot registration may be the best of any halo game to date, hitting shots felt like a beautiful thing. the new medals are badass. hail mary & distraction are just awesome.
next time i experiment in team slayer pro.. see what they took out that might make my experience even better.

TS Pro tonight then?

The Promethean sniper is supposed to be 1 shot kill no matter there you hit them if you are zoomed in. It is labeled as a power weapon because of this. Might be op, but I haven't tried it.
I have yet to play the game since I'm at college and I don't have a TV in my dorm to play it. One of my friends is getting it today, so I'll likely be able to play some before Friday, but dunno.
i'd say the binary rifle is too strong yes. any time it has been in someones hands so far, they'll be getting destroyed and herpderp one down and start going positive. the zoom just isn't magnified enough to make it where short range is hard for people. i sort of figured when i jumped out from behind a wall on someone walking with one and just got blown apart before my feet hit the ground again. it might not be as bad if weapons stayed on the map for longer once they are dropped. for those who don't know weapons disappear after about 15 seconds. so if you manage to kill the guy who just went off with one, but can't quite make it to the weapon yourself in time it's gone.
(i do understand why it needs to be short in the case of infinity slayer at least, or the map will just be crowded with too many powerful weapons and nothing normal would ever be used. but it's even less fair for RNG to hand someone THAT powerful of a gun. a pickup on map would be better, too strong for drop pod.)

That binary rifle is super sexy xD Farking nerdgasm when I got it in my hands for the first time. Played a while last night with a buddy. We didn't like it much at first but it grew on us, well atleast on me. We also played the first episode from Spartan Ops for the challenges haha, we didn't get the one where you have to beat all of the chapters on legendary >.> (which we did)
Oh well, we ended up at sr-16 so we did alright I think. Went home at 3am lol xD
After the M (Mature 17+) rating assignment was issued for Halo 2 for Vista and just prior to the shipment of the game to retail, Microsoft notified ESRB about pertinent content found in a map editor tool that is being bundled with the game. The content in question, although likely to be inaccessible to the vast majority of users, displays a photograph of an individual showing his bare backside to the user when a particular error occurs, and thus warrants a ‘Partial Nudity’ content descriptor in order to alert consumers to its presence in the product. Microsoft has therefore applied stickers with correct ESRB rating information to the packaging of virtually all copies that will ship to retail in the U.S. and Canada. We have been advised by Microsoft that future runs of the game will be produced without the content in question, thus negating the need for the descriptor to be displayed on those versions
Apparently the PC version(at least the Vista version) of HALO 2 was delayed to be released because a dev put a picture of his ass in the game, maybe this happened again.
Microsoft rep says new sci-fi shooter designed specifically for Xbox 360, no plans to port game to computer platform.
Sucks, either way i only have a PS3 and have no plans of playing this game anyways, it was fun in the beginning but I guess I just lost interest in this kind of game.
having a lot of fun in this game, killing people is satisfying again. weapons/kills weren't really fun in halo 3 and reach but they're a bit addicting in H4 imo.
the matchmaking system is really messed right now though, it starts games that aren't full. seen a 4v1 started, and a ton of 4v3's and it won't find a single player to fill that spot all game. sadly half of my losses are from those kind of situations and i have ~10 wins from being on the other end of it. it's not fun for anybody..
@herpderp - you can add me if you want, today we had 7 people for a little bit and couldn't find an 8th to run random team infinity slayers with so if you're down for stuff like that i'll throw an invite your way if you're ever on when it's going.
