I want to add that they have a new "Ironman" mode which is where you can't trade with other players in any way, your basically 100% independent if you choose to make you're account that way. You also get a cool symbol by your name so everyone knows that you're an ironman, also, you can disable ironman at any time but not reactivate it.

I was thinking about making an ironman so if someone here is interested in trying OSRS for the first time I maybe make an ironman to play through the low lvls with ya :)

Just got a drop that has a 1 in 32,768 chance in dropping O.o rarest item in the game. The smouldering stone. Unfortunately it isn't worth much.

Spoiler!

Old School Runescape requires a member account, right?

I play the up-to-date version of Runescape every once in a while. Great fun, and in my personal opinion, more so than oldschool Runescape.

Don't you like the new features they are adding? Or is it mostly for the nostalgia feeling? (which I'd understand).

I don't think osrs requires a members account, there's free to play worlds and I was on the free to play world before I made my account a member again. It might be that you have to have been a member previously to play osrs but I doubt it...

And yeah I really cant enjoy any of the new content on rs3 thats came out since about 2012 or 2013. It's under a new development team I think, they're going a totally different way with like the 'lore' from the previous years of runescape and I don't like it

Another reason why I don't mind playing OSRS even though it's not the official RS3, is that they have a development team dedicated just to 2007 osrs. And if you read through their updates and news posts they listen to what the community here wants 100%, they even have in game polls that help decide whether or not to go through with a suggested update. It's a really loyal community and an equally loyal development team, I love it.

I don't really care for the lore of the game, to be honest.

But you got me convinced to try it out. Just finished tutorial island :p
What's your IGN?

Well, I do from time to time. I'm just a bit busy with work/Uni and playing on Phoenix right now: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=136057

I do play from time to time, though.

What's that launcher you're using?

OSBuddy Pro? Any advantages?

it's a really nice add-on client basically, i can look up hiscores, exchange prices, item lookup and it tells me how much xp/hr i'm getting in any given skill. its really nice actually, lots of helpful features... it even tells me what items are dropped by mobs and how much they're worth so I can know if theres anything I want to pickup without having to right click and check whats there. The best feature that jagex hasn't given us in oldschool is that it has a in-game full-size map that shows your current location, which is amazingly useful

https://rsbuddy.com/osbuddy/

btw I have yet to see you online :p

edit: I'd like to add that jagex does allow this, its not a bot lol.
