I was noticing that in OG, the WoW topic is at 162 pages, and still going. So obviously WoW is quite popular on this forum. Even though this is 'Silkroad' forums, i was thinking we should make A WoW sub-forum. Just to please the users. Opinions?

I don't agree lol, kind of dum. If you want a WoW related forum, go to a Wow related forum, not here.

Should've figured that out before we got a topic to 162 pages.

I think that the WoW Topic is good. There's often good conversations in there, and it's almost a Sub-forum on its own. If you have a question, you post it in there and it's answered really quickly, then the conversation which was going on continues. Leave it be.

we can't have that topic getting too far, that could cause some problems.

Like.. how?

And if this happens, we should make a sub forum for every game whose topic goes over 150 pages. Come on, really, it's like having a sub forum for a genre of music, or similar.

It won't cause any problems, get that sock out of your ears.

I'm pro wow topic, not against it.

I was thinking about this myself a few days ago and it makes perfect sense. Sometimes it's really hard to find your answers looking through all the pages and search isn't always any good either.

Melez you got to stop being an idiot almost everywhere you post. Realize that as a forum grows some changes are needed, and I can assure you SRF wouldn't be the first mmo-fan forum to have sub forums of other games. " go to a WoW related forum," right because that makes perfect sense--send every person on SRF that want's to have a discussion about wow, among themselves, to another forum just so they can chat. With that logic we might as well get rid of OTL and AC too, you wanna talk Art and Graphic Design go to a GFX and art related forum. SRF is only for SRO and nothing else.

Besides with over 150 pages it's clear there is interest in the topic so having the sub forum created would be the only next logical thing to do--rather then cramming everything and everyone into one small confined space.

Simply just ask your question. Not everyone if there 'were' a WoW Subforum would search for every question they have. Do what I do and just ask :)

We just have different opinions then. WoW is popular everywhere, yet I don't think they would make a sub-forum for it.. everywhere. As much as I hear, the people who post in that topic are pretty satisfied with it. While.. you can't really compare it with the OTL, or the AC (which I'm sure, many, if not, 90% forums have them, or something similar to it).. imo that sub-forum isn't mandatory at all. As the WoW people said, you ask something in that topic, they answer quickly. If you want something more, I suggest visiting a WoW forum..

Ok so what you're saying is just because other forums don't do it one way SRF has to follow that same template as well.

That's pretty much what you're argument boils down to, saying "90%" of forums have 'Artist Corners" and 'Off Topic Lounges' and not WoW subforums so there for we shouldn't have one either becuase it's not mandatory. Even though this said subforum would probably make things cleaner and easier and since we-unlike some other forum who may not have the community to support it, hence no need for the sub forum-have a large community of World of Warcraft players on this forum who would most likely make good use of it so one would think " why not, it's not like it would hurt,".

No, that's not the case here is it? If they need something more then a thread then we should send every SRF member who plays wow off to another forum , all of them holding hands and skipping, and have them go make threads and talk amongst each other there. When, on the other hand, there could be a possibility where they could; just click on a sub section and make the threads they need/want, post question they couldn't find an answer for on google, easily search for questions using the search engine, talk amongst themselves about different topics and have the freedom to make a new thread for each individual topic. All at the cost of just having one more block of text you can scroll past if it does not interest you--heck! It's doesn't even have to be all on it's own, it could be with in the "Other Games" forum making it almost invisible unless you visit that forum frequently. You know what? Even now as I'm typing this out I can see you're point, that's way to much comfort and ease to have. It doesn't make sense at all.

Anyways so far we've only heard from three wow players here; myself, Priam and Snoopy. Both whom seem to be against it but personally I would like to see a sub created. It just makes things a lot more cleaner and easier to navigate through.

Not against a sub. Not at all.

I think a Sub would make things a lot easyer to see and find.

You guys both have a point, but where Melez brought his in a decent way, yours was rude, Hostage, tone it down a bit.
I'll discuss this with the staff and we'll see from there.

hai.

what about a hidden subforum, like the subforums for
guilds. that way, wow players do have their own subforum
to browse through, and the rest will still have a "clean"
silkroadforum.

and like ru said, we're also discussing it ;]

Whatever way, I'm cool with it as long I can find it, i'm not particulary good at hide & seek.

My idea is popular 8) lol, i don't like the 'hidden sub-forum' idea. I don't know how it would work, but attach a WoW Sub-forum to the 'Other Games' section. Either that, or sticky the WoW (offical) thred. But stickied items tend to get unpopular, or the posting slows down... Idk why...

i like this idea best personally.
the one thing i was afraid of was having "World Of Warcraft" in big
letters on the front page of srf. but since this way it could be a
subforum in the Other Games main section, the lettering wont be that
big.

good suggestion imo.

Well jeez, cin. Thanks for noticing.
 :(

Anyways, I'll +1 this idea only because I think it would be a little hard for new comers of SRF to know we have a privet section for WoW that's hidden and can only be seen when given permission. Atleast this way it open for the public and still not in the way.-

After all the love I've shown, all the meow mix, all the fresh kitty litter when you purred all that snuggling--gone. Gone to waist.

A WoW subforum is in discussion. I think the main concern right now, is that our WoW userbase is only a small handfull. Its doubtfull whether or not it would be a flourishing section, or a waste of space.

But again, the topic is in dicussion. A WoW subforum is something I myself would participate in too.

Keep in mind, as others pointed out, the WoW thread is only so long because its so old.

o m g

It's alive. Sup Ryoko ;)

Anyways, The wow players on this forum are groing fast. We've had like 6-7 new ones in the last couple of weeks.

I think it's gonna be more productive then several sections on this board tbh.

And it would be cool to have ryoko in a discussion again.

We need some ryoko story's, so need that forum fast.

topics in general. story's. etc.
