Ive been reading around other threads and have seen people saying that a chinese nuker will need to delevel fire to 30 (heuskal 90, cold 90, lightning 90, fire 30). WHYYYYYY????????? fire does the most damage, wouldnt you want it at 90 for maximum damage output?

Indeed fire at 90 supplies the maximum damage output, but pure INT relies heavily on a snow shield to stay alive. Also, spear lacks the defense of the shield (compared to a pure INT S&S). Pure INT + protector set supplies enough magical defense, but the build needs to compensate with superior physical defense as well as the large 60% snow shield, which only pure INT can use effectively. 90 lightning and 90 heuksal is strictly necessary. Light nukes at 90 cap have the potential of dishing out more damage than fire, but fire is way more consistent. Consequently, the build is indeed 90 heuk, 90 light , 90 cold, 30 fire.

Its the other way round' at current cap. I've found out that the fire nukes do very un-stable damage. Sometimes it would hit very hard, sometimes very low, even with 100% blue stat and over 80% on white attack rating. Unlike Light nuke who outputs steady damage.. but lower :/ And YES! At 90 cap 90 Light/Ice/Heuksal is the only way to go.. sadly :/

My term of comparison was my lv 70 S&S nuker. I had Horse's thunderbolt and compared it to Flame wave Wide and Flame wave burning. Maybe it's a different story at level 80, but that was what I found. Also, you can see that the damage RANGE of lightning is larger than that of fire. Here are some facts on the maxed nukes: Horse's thunderbolt lv 6: 728 - 1352 (300%)-> difference = 624Flame wave Wide lv 13: 780 - 1300 (330%) -> difference = 520 Flame wave Burning lv 18: 709 - 1182 (300%) -> difference = 473.It would make sense that the fire nuke hits more stable at level 80 too, but maybe experience proves otherwise. Trust LockStar on this one, though. I've been just level 70, whereas he is 80. EDIT: here are the nuke facts at level 90: <credits to Konpaku website for this> Book 5 fire nuke - lv 89: 1028 - 1714 (315%) -> difference = 686 Flame wave wide - lv 90: 1060 - 1766 (330%) -> difference = 706 Level 90 thunderbolt: 989 - 1837 (300%) -> difference = 848 This is where my claim finds support. It might be the other way around effectively in game, but the numbers seem to support what I said. Note that I did not take into account the "%" increases for each nuke. They might just make the difference between how hard the different nukes hit. Conclusively, only game experience can tell.

Thanks for digging those stats out. And I added them to my guide. Thanks!
And yeah it seems that Light will be alot more efficient than fire at 90 cap. Just look at the damage range of Fire and Light. Light will be more stable.

No such thing as 60% snow shield. Not until level 100 cap. At 90 cap, highest you can get is intensify shield level 3 which is 53%... Just leave ice at 80 IMO. 1 problem with the lvl 30 fire shield is that it won't last even half the time your lvl 90 buffs will last for. So you gotta cast it almost all the time when in pvp.

Wether it's a bug or not, fire shield has always been a %, and a total of 100 on jewelry+fire shield WILL make you fully ice immune (which I've been since level 48). In fact: I have not used a pill in ages, since I'm immune to ice, poison, burn, shock, and zombie.

lol why so many old players of sro dun even know fire shield is a % bug...
and to the OT: fire nuke does hv more dmg than light nuke (the % behind is higher), but u need 90 light cuz of piercing force light nuke wif piercing force (which is 18% increase at 88) > fire nuke w/o piercing force
and yes fire 30 for fire shield... thats the reason why 2:1, 3:1 hybrid are not gonna do well at 90cap, they gotta sacrifice between fire and light and ice, which 1 they wanna sacrifice... fire (phy attck buff/passive since hybrid spear moves hurts) light (hybrid does nuke too) ice (hybrid also need phy def)
alot of 2:1 3:1 or even 5:1 are gonna do 90spear 90light 60fire 60ice, which IMO isnt really making use of the big jump in phy def of ice90
