I'm kinda in a downer mood about this game right now...

Well, I finally hit 20, but can I really even do any job well at this level? I currently have a 6 lvl SP gap and have completed all quests I can except for the lvl 19 quests. Tigers and what not are giving extremely low XP (.1% or lower). I'm not real sure how much the Gaijiki give but in order to kill them in a timely fashion I must use lots of MP and MP pot every other fight due to my ~600 mp pool. I guess I could cut back and just gain XP slower but not spend as much on pots. I wouldn't care so much, but since the drop rate of the eye is so crappy and the fact that I have to get 100 with no other quests to do is really getting me down.

I'm a pure STR blader. Does this sound normal? Any tips on grinding at this level range?

I'm also wondering about money. I have 230k at the moment (had 260k...pots can really cut down your money fast if you happen to not get lucky on drops). I see all these people on these forums pimping out their weapons, even though they're like 2nd degree weapons. Are these people just rich with other characters or am I just poor compared to everyone else? I figured at this level that I would be getting equipment too often to warrant spending much money on them. However, even if I wanted to upgrade, I don't have nearly enough elements to make many tablets and elixirs just seem too expensive to invest on this low level armor.

Am I just poor or normal?

What about jobs. I figured once I hit 20 the whole "triangular conflict system," or whatever dumb name they gave it, would offer something else to do and ease the pain of grinding, but I almost feel like I would be useless at this level at any job.

Also, don't get me wrong. I don't really mind grinding. I played RFO simply because it was a grinder that was just fun to pick up and play. Unfortunately the grinding in that game becomes extremely tedious very fast and the PvP and classes were all just crap, IMO. SRO is not only more fun, but it's also not as much a pain in the butt as RFO was (not to mention it's FREE and it's BETTER). I play other p2p MMOs, so I could quit SRO at any time and not care, but I'm really trying to like this game.

Basically what I want to know is when can I start feeling like all this work I've put into the game is paying off. Right now I feel like I'm weak and can't really do anything but sit there and grind levels out extremely slow. It's not much of a moral booster when I see people going around killing Gajiki in two hits while I take many blow to fell one. Not to mention when I first got my hunter item I went outside and got killed by a thief and deleveled to 19 was like kicking me in the groin. It also doesn't help to have a bad headache all day...

So yeah. Basically I'm coming here looking for some sort of moral booster. Something to keep me playing. I set level 20 as my first real goal in this game and now that I've hit it and don't really feel like much has changed at all, if not worse, it almost makes me just not want to log in again. What is there to keep me going?

You're speech is amazing.
You shouldn't be down.
You have a 6 level gap.
You're a STR blader.
You're not weak.
You're not poor.
A few more 100K and you'd be doing fine.
Bandits give good drops.
You should be a merchant.
Stay away from traders at all costs.
Theif at your level, with hunters at their level, is like going to jail and dropping a bar of soap in the shower.
Hunter, is iffy, because of high level poppers, even on accident,
but the same applies to merchant.
I say, you should be proud of what you have, cut back on chakji till level 21 or 22, as to save some mp/hp pots.
If this is you're first character, you should be ANYTHING but discouraged.
Keep up the good work. =)

firstly, just stick with it. till you get to about 30 it can be a bit tough, but after that things start come together(if you have to right mindset ;) )

trading at 20 is def possible, (although not very profitable money-wise) once you get past the chakji though it would be a good idea to stay on your camel and pot it, or find someone who can escort you to donwhang.

as far as money, most people who have insane weaps at low levels do have a higher char they transferred money from. paying some 10 mill for a lvl 16 som w/e just from grinding and 1st/2nd degree drops....maybe possible, but would take a long long long long time. i find that if i just keep with it and keep grinding, i always have enough to get by and every once in a while ill get a nice drop that i can make that extra dough with (stalling is very important if you indeed want to make oodles of gold).

the best way to get involved in the "triangular conflict system" or w/e is to join a guild, or make friends with a few guildies who would be willing to help you out with trade runs and whatnot.

dont worry, i was feeling the same way you were at around that level. i made one char got it to 28 then quit for about a month. came back, started a new char and this time i told myself i wasnt gonna quit till i got my 5th degree weapon. once i got to that point i found that i could easily go on trade runs by myself don<->jang and relieve the sometimes extreme boredom of grinding. now im 4x going to be 5x pretty soon, have plenty of money in the bank, go on trades occasionally and am def enjoying the game.

just keep at it. the skies will clear soon enough ;)
