Many people have been asking this for a long time, its not hard to do, but w/e, I'll write this anyway (pictures included)
#1BACK UP YOUR MEDIA.PK2

#2 Open your PK2 Extractor PK2 Tools

#3 In the Extractor, open Media.pk2

#4 On the left side open Server_dep>Silkroad>Textdata

#5 Extract ALL Itemdatas 25,000, and 30,000 (these contain the avatars)

#5A Since so many people asked, I added 5A, once you extract something in the extractor, it will create a folder where ever the extractor is located. That folder will be labeled MEDIA, and will contain all the .txt files you extracted.

#6 Heres where you decide, are you changing an Avatar to another Avatar? Or do you not have an avatar? If no to the second question, you will need to extract All the item datas (5,000-30,000) Skip to 6B if you don't have an avatar..

#6A If you DO have an avatar, and you are changing it to something else, search for your avatar in Itemdata25,000 or 30,000 (30,000 Has the Suits released in the past 2 months 9/15/09 ). Below is a list of the Avatars, and their Acc's/heads (in this example, I will be changing halloween to Pirate. Search for the pirate code in the codes list(copy the .bsr), and go to Itemdata25,000. now find ITEM_MALL_AVATAR_M_HALLOWEEN halloween

In our example, Halloween has two forms, the Item mall one, and the event one, depending on which one you have, is the one you'll change
ITEM_MALL means you bought it with silk
EVENT_ Means it was either won in POP or from a Jewel box event
Meaning if you change the item mall one, and you have the event one, your character wont change, but somebody with the one you edited will. To be safe, edit both the ITEM_MALL one, and the EVENT_ one.

I have the Item mall one, so I will find that, scroll to the right until I find the .bsr (item\Avatar\avatar_m_halloween.bsr)

I will highlight that part, and paste the pirate suits .bsr over it (item\Avatar\avatar_m_pirate_2.bsr)

#6A (repeat under codes for convenience) Once you have found the avatar you have, scroll to the right, until you see its .bsr , From the table above copy the .bsr of the Avatar you WANT and PASTE it over the Avatar's .bsr that you HAVE. Do the same for the Hat, Acc, and Body (if all pieces are applicable)

#6B For those of you who DO NOT have an avatar, but WANT one, you will be changing your Armor (prot, or garms, HA. LA, or Robe) for avatar pieces.
For CH armors, you will be looking in Itemdata5,000 for pieces of armor. For Euro armors, you will be looking in Itemdata15,000 for your items.
My suggestion is that you change Hands, and Feet to the ACC. Legs, and Chest to the Body, and Head and shoulders to the Hat.
These parts can be found by their degree (01 - 10), their tier (a,b,c), and their part code
Code:
HA = Helmet
CA = Crown
BA = Body
FA = Feet
AA = Arms
SA = Shoulders
LA = Legs

Once you find w/e part you are looking for change its .bsr to the avatar piece
In my example, I am going to change my 8D 1st tier Male Chest to Pirate body.
Open Itemdata5000, search until you find the pieces you are going to edit, I will change the Chest, to be the pirate body.Find what you are looking for

, change the .bsr to w/e you are changing. In my case 8D garms to Pirate

. Remember, Eu armors are in 15,000

#7 Once you have done the edits, press Save on the text file you edited

#8 Open your PK2 Editor, open Media.pk2 in it

#9 On Automatic single file update, press select file, and search for the modified itemdata

#10 Press import

#11 ???

#12 Now for the hardest part, log in.

Well its right here, off these forums, from a trusted user, and moved by a mod to the PK2 edit section. If you don't trust it then don't, but I've never had any problems with it =_=. I think you just have an over active AV.

Sure, I doubt it will change though. Old item datas usually dont get changed, they just get re-updated, to take out any PK2 edits people might have. But I have to re-do all of mine tomorrow :P, so I'll check.

You probably changed the .ddj, not the .bsr . Either that or you mis-spelled the avatar. Check to make sure you only changed the.bsr, and that its spelled correctly.

EDIT: For Pizzagirl, the method is still the same, works fine after the update, just dont use an old itemdata, make sure you re-extract it from the new media.

No I don't, sorry, you're just going to have to run around and flap your wings like an idiot T_T. IXQueenieXI on youtube knows how to change the running animations, but wont tell anybody how they did it =l. If I ever figure out a way, or IXQueenieXI tells me, then I'll post it here.

cursed pirate suit (transformed) seems to crash evrytime when i change my w_knight dress w_knight hat and w_spartan acc in it

Thats because only the body transforms, the hat and ACC don't have a transform state, so you're trying to make it something that doesnt exist. So just make the body

and you should be all set.
And make sure you only edit the .bsr >_< do NOT change the .ddj

I did have this error too but it's safe
just get the map where ur downloading to in ur AVG exception list and try downloading it again.

oh yeah...any way to edit the pvp cape NOT to take visual effect when u wear it?
ie. so when u pvp u are still in avatar.

Edit your armor/prot/garms w/e you have to the avatar, so when you PvP, you will still be wearing avatar. Also, the cape is located in Itemdata5000, search Voucher.

1 3735 ITEM_CH_F_FRPVP_VOUCHER_E E is the ORANGE cape The other colors are in alphabetical order, as the way they sell from the NPC. You can use the cape and change it to something else, and have an extra piece from an avatar :P

Correct, in order to "fly" like angel wing, you have to change the .ban's for your specific character model to the "angelwing" flying .ban. Which is in the Data.pk2, and must be done with manual importing.

I tried to open Pk2Editor right out of winzip :banghead: , lol
extracted it, now it DOES work

anyone here able to edit there skeleton knight avatar to anthor i have been unable to i think the glow on it or something complicates it

omg people, you complicate this WAY too far. From now on, post in this thread what you want, and I'll do it for you >_>. I'll just upload the modified .txt file, and send it to you through PM, or here.
Format should be like this:

OR if you're changing equipment to avatars, post every piece you have (tier, degree, part) and what you want to change them to.

Whats the code for the Samurai outfit? Can't find it. Also, might seem like a stupid question, but do have to have SRO closed when editing the PK2? I have the Samurai outfit and want to change into the Pirate outfit.

Body=Samurai Chest
Hat=Samurai Hat
ACC=Arabian Accessory
What you want
Body=White Pirate Chest
Hat=White Pirate Hat
Acc=White Pirate Accessory

oke, will work on it now, also, I'm going to assume you have a male character. Yes you have to have SRO closed to import the .txt . But you can edit the .txts while SRO is running, just cant put them in game. You can even extract things from the PK2 while the game is running. I'll work on your set as soon as I walk the dogs.
