I'm really feeling the stuff around him that doesn't have an outline.
But, the black stuff... Not so much. (The black stuff on the left and right.)

Edit:
Now that I see v2, if in v1 it was brushes then nevermind. It seemed more complex.

v1 is better imo, seeing v2 makes me think the black stuff gives v1 more "pazaz."
