The appeal wasn't turning into animals, it was the awesome CG animation at the time and the great story to back it up.

Story....correct me if am wrong...but the few episdoes i watched it looked
like G1 but set in the past. plus didnt they have G1 in it...lol most
problely due to shit ratings

I seen it all...and the shiity sequal "Beast Machines" they both sucked
big time...it was super gay and shit....
only 1 person ever died from the good guys and he was a former bad
guy (Dinobot)

If you are getting the three seasons of Beast Wars, I recommend getting the Australian ones. All of them have greater picture quality and have extras like episode commentaries over their North American counterparts.
Also Depthcharge and Tigerhawk did die on the last two episodes who were part of the good guys. Even though Dinobot did have the best death

Transformers: Generation 1
its the series that started it all, and beast wars is a poor mans rip off

So that's why they used cg instead of animation? Cause cg is more expensive...

CG cartoons was a fad, they did it because they tought it was the next
big thing...and it wasnt, well not for cartoon seriers.
but dude G1 is better in ever way

It is a spin-off, extension of the original story. There was no ripping off to do.
