Likes this girl in my school who's been pregnant and she thinks she's so badass so when she passes by people she pushes them and stuff and my friend was like: what the **** did you just do, bitch?! lol then she hit him and he was like: do that again and she did. So yeah she should see that punch coming, she was really asking for it.
So what happens when your friend hits the pregnant girl back, she looses her balance, lands on her stomach, and kills the baby? Even if nothing like that happens, I seriously doubt she'd deserve to be hit just because she pushed you or your friend out of the way.

And Im definitely not condoning fighting and aggressive behavior.
Since when has punching someone with less strength/less experience ever been considered treating them as your equal--regardless of gender? It's degrading to even get punched in the first place (and people who throw around punches look like complete douches anyway). I understand why you'd have a problem with women getting lighter sentences in court, but punching someone for calling your girlfriend a skank? There are better ways to resolve problems than savagery.
Of course, I understand the need to defend yourself or the ones you love. I don't see any other situation in which violence is necessary.
tl;dr: I can see what a well-mannered, non-abusive, well-liked and compassionate lovers you guys will turn out to be...

she wasn't pregnant at that moment lol, he obviously wouldn't hit her if she had a baby inside her.

why? You're gonna stand up for a guy who can't fight for shit either?
It's like this: Code: Select all
The guy slaps this woman, and suddenly out of nowhere come these guys to kick and hit him. One of them, at around 0:28 with the pink shirt, just runs in, kicks the 'womanizer' two times and then just leaves. It's absolutely retarded how men can feel like that.

I just hope that the "I'll backhand her if she bad-mouths my girlfriend" type of people never have kids. Violence really never is the answer, unless perhaps we're talking about the Military. I don't think the US and Chinese armies would ever just sit around holding hands and talking out their differences.

Well then, I guess I should punch that kid who's annoying me. He's just asking for it. Nagging all the time, running around, crying and screaming. Ugh. He's worse than any woman I've ever had to put up with. No. What don't you understand? Using violence against someone is already treating them as a lesser being. You don't value their dignity, their body, or even their life.
How are you not condoning violence? The only time one can justify violence is if violence is first brought onto himself. When you are at gunpoint--gender, race, ethnicity, THEY DON'T MATTER. You have a right to defend yourself as a human being. The moment you begin to talk about how gender (or whatever else separates us) is ever a factor in violence is the moment violence cannot be justified.
Also, upbringing is a hugee aspect in this--more than gender. I was taught never to hit anyone and to respond to provocation in the most respectful manner possible. Others (girls and boys) were taught to solve their problems with their fists.
tl;dr: You're taking gender equality too literally. Women will never be men, men will never be women. You're taking something completely unrelated and saying it must apply to all genders. "I know some men who throw each other off of roofs, we should do that to women too, they asked for equality."
**I didn't revise this so sorry ahead of time for any grammar/spelling/lapses in judgement.

There will always be exceptions. There are just certain things that men can't do to women, and women can't do to men. We don't share restrooms. Guys often have conversations, or exchange jokes, that if done in front of or to women would likely result in sexual harassment charges.
Like others have said, when you hit someone, you're not treating them as your equal. Women fought for equality. How are men providing them with this equality by hitting them for whatever reason? Similarly, how are men treating other men as equals by hitting them? You don't have to deal with problems with your fists.

Keep in mind that there are many brave young men (and women!) who are ready to do violence on behalf of you and your country so that you don't have to
