Well Silo, if you believe all that about marrying someone you love and all, then what's the problem? I'm sure you can find a beautiful woman with these same beliefs, just as well as you can find an ugly one or a plain looking girl. Just don't go generalizing by saying beautiful women are more likely to cheat.

That will only have meaning to those who believe in heaven. Even with those people, religious beliefs change between people. I was always taught growing up that you really just need to tell Jesus that you believe in him as your savior and be sorry for your sins and you'll go to heaven, something like that. That doesn't sound so hard. Other people may believe you need to do more than that.

I can say finding true love is just as hard as killing the Flying Spaghetti Monster with a wet noodle on a rainy saturday. It's not going to mean anything to those who don't believe and gives your post less credit.

Then in that case, all girls on the planet should be in love with Donald Trump, or Bill Gates, or any other extremely rich person. All the guys should be in love with some extremely rich or famous women. I can't think of any names atm.

I think I'll go declare my love for my coworker now because she has a MUCH larger salary than my wife, and has more material goods. She has more power to take care of me financially. Then I'll leave her for someone with even more resources.

I'm sure that if one day your bf lost his job or his business don't turn out well, you'd change the way you feel about him. Maybe you wouldn't express it through your voice or action, but somewhere in your mind, you don't want to accept that fact.
Lots of couples thought they are in love with each, but actually, they are not. There are many so-called loves resemble to love. After some years living together, if they don't divorce, this 'love' become less hotter. I can tell you that in developed country such as US, France and many country in Europe, the number of couple divorce is very high, compare to poor country in everywhere in the world. Why is that? It's because of the pressure of life. Too concentrate on working, making money, and everyone want things as best as possible... but in exchange of that, they lose the essence of love. Ppl have no idea why they love each other and why they come to each other.
Why after years they don't love anymore? Because when they began to love, this love is based on hormone,chemical reaction of the body. But because human body change through time, this is not a stable way to love. Ppl can't find for their own a definition of love that is everlasting.

Yes, the true nature of human is greed. The more you want smt, the more you'll be disappointed when you can't get it.

Something tells me that is Lana's boyfriend lost his job, I am sure she would stand by her man. Like many other woman do.

I stayed with my ex, when he lost his job. He is an ex for other reasons, not the size of his bank balance.

Of course i won't be happy because he won't be happy and when he is not happy im also not happy.
And instead of being a stuck up whore like you think the world is i would actually try to help him find a new job. All problems can be solved.

But almost everyone on the forum can agree that there is no point arguing with you. You never felt love, just obsession.

But I just want to tell you don't play with the word "love" when you don't really mean it. There's lots of couple after years saying "i love you", "you love me", found out their partner a jerk then ended up separating...
There's lots of things resemble to love, but the real love is rare. At least, someone who don't know the real definition of it won't find it.

People don't split because one or another is a jerk, I split with my ex because we grew apart.

Anyway, when you really love someone, you need to convince yourself that you don't approach your partner because of his credit card, his face, her boobs, her ass. The beauty, the power, the richness, ... are fog which blurred the essence of love. Truely love someone meaning love both his good and bad personality, not not just the good face, like lots lots of ppl usually do.
Sad but true. Not much ppl is able to conceive this definition of love.
Sometime, you need to overcome the true nature of human to be able to evolve to a better generation of humanity. Using excuses such as "because it is the nature of human, therefore it's understandable that..." is just a lame excuse. This excuse is just for weak ppl who wants to cover his bad doings.

But if you don't feel any physical atraction towards your "love", I would say that's pretending.

Anyhoos, @Prometheus, women are attracted to affluent men that can take care of them and their self relatively well. Men are attracted to women with baby making bodies. Bare bones aside, society has tempered most of us in such a way that we won't just go with our base instincts. So, instead of every guy trying to "fillet minion" (LOL) every woman and spread his seed you have men getting married. Women, instead of marrying powerful men, settle for men they actually love. Emotions are an interesting thing; they appear to curb our most basic instincts. Still, there are certain things that trigger in a guy's mind (a la):

See, that's what you do when you love someone who you are with. When they are down on their game (lost job, bad health, alcohol addiction, or whatever other 'fixable' thing that may happen) you try to help them, don't just leave them for someone "better."

Silo talks about people first meeting and falling in love, and then losing some of that love over time... so therefore they're "not really in love". Well personally I think that's normal. It doesn't mean you love the person any less. It just means you're getting to know that person more, and finding things you may not like as much about the other person as you once thought you did. That doesn't mean you love them any less. You love someone "even though they..." not "because they..."

In other words, you love the one you're with even though she drops the "f-bomb" way too much, or even though he picks his nose in public, or even though she yells at you about hanging out with the guys "too much." You don't (or shouldn't) just love someone because they have a big bank account and buy you expensive jewelry, or because the person has an expensive car.
