Found this comment on a sports site that reflects my feelings about the world cup spot on:
This world cup is a bunch of bullshit
teams cheating (uraguay/Germany) diving and flopping (spain/ghana/portugal) I fuckin swear I hope the Netherlands wins this shit, they seem like the only team who DIDNT resort to cheating to win a game, I cant understand how you guys stand for this bullshit.
yeah I am an American, and really I didnt give a sht about soccer much even when the usa got to the 16 thingy but I got interested in it cause Im living in Japan now and the Japanese were obsessed with the shit, even made an annoying ass soccer song for it that played EVERYWHERE I went(untill they lost that is), so I got interested in it
but...FFS with all the Cheating BS in these games, its like why should I Farking care? why is it that 95% of the teams cheated their way to wins? Why is it that the governing body or whatever just do NOTHING and wont even let replays help with bad calls? wtf? they Farking have a tv they could just go talk to some outlet filming the game and ask them to replay something for them
I mean seriously, I swear only the Netherlands is the only team that deserves to be in the semi finals now, its a Farking joke, I dont understand how fifa couldn't just look at the replay of some of the bad calls and cheating in some of the games (like uraguay/ghana wtf)
and Farking do something MORE than a red card, like kicking an entire TEAM from the tournament for that shit? I never even cared who would win the cup, I thought it would be the best teams in the world actually COMPETING, and that sounded interesting to me (albeit after being prodded by some co-workers non-stop)
its like what if every team pulls a Uruguay from now on? Its not like Fifa can do anything NOW that they've denied anyone else the chance for fair play, its pretty much cheat cheat cheat form here on out. I really hope the Netherlands can kick some cheater ass and do ti without resorting to the BS of the cheaters. I mean seriously these teams can basically do whatever they want now.
I wonder what would happen if EVERYONE started handballing, flopping all the time (too late for that) trying to trick the refs into a goal (Germany) etc etc. gah... I just don't see why you Europeans arent up in arms about that shit, isnt this like your Farking pastime? Damn with Baseball the dopers were called IN FRONT OF CONGRESS ffs (sure nothing much happened) but at least in doing that, the FANS know about their heroes and wont put up for that sht anymore. . .and i Farking hate baseball, too damn boring! But At least they seem to have more integrity than these soccer *players*

Oh well im just glad the Lakers won an epic game 7 a few weeks back haha thats some REAL compettition

Well, I think alot of people forget that there is a huge amount of money involved in these word cup games and that the players are willing to do everything to get their team to win. (even if it involves nasty tackles and dives...)

I think football is brilliant when a pass is given trough 2 lines of defenders right into the foots of a teammate, I just go wild then. I don't follow the NBA but I have already seen some basketball matches and I was amazed by the teamwork those players showed me. I can find myself in alot of sports, the only thing I don't like is nascar, bleh altough I like it when they make a double flip into the crowd lol xD I only like sports when you need some sort of intelligence for it(see football).

Drevixa wrote: LOL NASCAR . yeah, Nascar MY sentiments exactly, they just drive around in a f*cking Circle. formula 1 and indy car racing on the other hand is bad ass, the cars go faster and look cooler Im not Saying football is ALL bad, as that article I quoted said, Im a bit interested in soccer, since the world cup started and I see like little videos of the striker dudes busting through defenders, I dont doubt its a great sport, but the BS that was in this past world cup really turned me off, especially the guy that got elbowed in the chest and started grabbing his face HAHAH I laughed out loud a that one/ I was like :*seriously?* I was liking how pretty much every country stops everything, working, fighting, f*cking. just to watch the WC, I read an article about an African lady getting electricity to her home from a cable like 5 miles away, where her relatives had to set that shit up (kind dangerous amirite?)JUST to watch the game, I mean nations that have been warrior for thousands of years STOP fighting just for the world cup, amazing...so im like damn maybe there's something to this. . .then *cheating BS happens* and Im all like wtf! and then I lose interest in soccer again lol Most other people I knew kinda felt the same way, I mean They knew America wasn't gonna win it and weren't expecting it too but when we see alll that retarded stuff its like, why watch this? Id rather see my kids play at least that's more fair as most soccer kids probably don't resort to cheating (in America at least ) because soccer isn't on TV everyday so they don't even know about all that hahaha But yeah soccer can be a GREAT competitive sport, if they take out the fake part of it and actually put in rules and regulations that promote REAL competitive play, I mean all the energy the players spend flopping around and doing other kinds of retarded stuff to get an edge, were spent on PLAYING the damn game, soccer would be a whole lot of more fun to watch! but I do understand the whole pressure the players have, but still, Id like to see great games and great moments haha.

Dont blame Football/Soccer for what it is, blame Fifa for not coming into the year 2010 and improving their rules and how its officiated.

I would buy dinner for the guy who can explain the logic behind watching cars driver around a circle 60 times. What a fking waste of gas too.

The logic is this: there are no circular tracks on nascar and therefore cars would never drive around in a circle. Since the logical premise is false, the conclusion is, by default, true. You now owe me dinner.
P.S. I like steak.

well imo the spainese are a better team then the englandese and argentinese so i think the spainese players have a great chance against the germanese.
