Everyone dies so why not just kill them? Your bed will will always get messed up so why make it? Food will eventually turn into shit so why not just throw it down the toilet?

Because there is a reason

I know you in sense, like how god knows people to give prayers. If needed I know you, like if you kill my I'd know it was you.

People who said no actually should die.

you know why? Because indirectly you've already killed a whole bunch of people, so if you really want to save people, DIE. that's the ONLY way to save people without you killing ANYONE.

Oh, and Silo: No, I don't. I keep having this habit of sleeping with people immediately, then be bored of them within 4 days...(don't let anyone EVER tell you Dutch people are uptight. We're whores to the bone. cin, Priam, XMoshe, anyone who lives in the Netherlands in a downright slut/hussy/pimp/bitch/whore/ho)

You're correct. I don't know you personally right now. If you were to stab my mother, then I would know it was you.

You're trying to steer from the point that there is the flaw in your logic about this Box and the button. Anonymity.

I wouldn't know who was dying as a result of my button pressing. That's what makes receiving the $1,000,000 bearable to me.

Blissful ignorance, my friend.

Don't really see the reason why saying no should warrant people having to die to save others...

People that said yes are in the same boat, 'cept instead of adding yet another one to the mass on the table, some people chose to say no ...

so

"No" = indirect cause of death, thus should die for such when a decline to cause a seemingly direct path of death in order to save more lives, indirectly, presents itself.

"Yes" = indirect cause of death, thus shouldn't die for such and kills yet another for personal gain to do whatever with while continuing to indirectly cause the deaths of individuals.

I can see your point, but w/e ...looking from that view, I'd say any should die then for the indirect cause of deaths to save the lives of lots of other individuals :sohappy:

but then again, those that said no do so in the sense of direct cause for a death rather than an indirect link towards such things...

Yes, you don't know who he is. But you know in your mind that you killed someone. How can you live happily with it? Or if your parents ask you where does that money come from, would you tell them that you killed someone to get it?

So it's not a matter if I kill your parents, right?

Nope. I know I pressed a button. If someone died I wouldn't have any way to know for sure. Simple as that.

FWIW I would like to know what evil person created a box with a button that kills random people when you press it.

I would probably steal it like the guy in the video McLovin1t posted.

You want the money for your own good? Ok...
No doubt, i'm sure you would kill someone at your will. But that's you.
Maybe something bad happened in your past, or that just me.

So your trying to say that I should die because I'd rather not have 1 million in my bank and have another person in this Earth live? Really?

Lets take driving for example. People may (possibly) die from a result of me driving to and from work. When I drive to work I drive with the intent to get from point A to point B. If someone does get hurt (car crash for example) it's an indirect and accidental incident. My intent is to drive to work in order to gain money, the death occurred by pure chance.

In the button scenario, I would have to press the button and effectively murder someone to gain a reward. Their death is a direct and non-accidental result of my actions. My intentions are to kill someone in order to gain a money reward of substantial amount, their death occurred by pure intent to kill for reward.

The whole argument isn't about saving lives, it's about taking them.

Simple answer to the question: No. Is someones life worth 1 million dollars? No. Is it worth 1 billion? No. Is it worth 100 billion? No. I will not kill someone with the intent to kill in order to gain a reward. Simple as that.

Edited for typos.

I would do it. The chance of it killing someone in your neighbourhood is slim :D
Also, you will never know who you have killed.. but I think I'd feel guilty if I see on the news some people have died :(

It would be funny if they left the box at a pre school an all the kids pressed th button like 40 times each very dy.

When the kids grow up they then tell the kids of the number of people that they killed. A few would commit suicide, lol
I lol'ed while thinking of this
