18th century. That's when the octal numbering system first came into being.

21 oct (octal) = 17 in decimal

The idea is right, but the answer is wrong. In fact, it's universal and it's valid all the time.

I don't think so. You can't state that it's valid before the actual numbering system came into being.

It's like saying "You are able to read an email before the computer existed." Email didn't exist, so if the numbering system did not exist prior to the 18th century, the statement is false as you have no reference point.

Item is valuable, Item or Items must go through the postal system

Hint: You can use locks.

Postal workers cant open lock, but if they have a key they can

Edit: Sorry Baro

This depends on the point of view of each person.
But as now, we knew what octal and decimal are. So if we look back to the past. It's still valid.
What u just said is like saying "there is no point in studying the Big Bang, coz at that time, no math and physic existed, therefore, all the physic law was not valid"

There is a special lock that u can only lock once. Once it's opened, the lock is broken. So if someone open it, we'd know that the postal server cheated, then we can sue them 8)

Not even close to the same thing. The Big Bang is a theory. Its existence is still hypothetical. Sure, science assumes it's fact just because a lot of scientists are in agreement.

Octal numbering system was invented by mankind. Its existence is fact as it is an observable phenonemon. So at some point when there were no written texts, or spoken languages, or even fire, that statement is false :)

But, never mind. Let's get back to the math.

So Big Bang is false, evolution is false, force attraction of the Earth is false (before Newton), the Earth flat is true...

Not at all. It just couldn't be observed. Observable, repeatable phenomenon.

life changing over time = evolution is one possible theory. There are others of course.
gravitational force = sure, it's possible, and logical, but who's to say there isn't another answer?

I've already stated my piece, we'll agree to disagree on this since it's not really a math problem, more theoretical.

Silo you are failing bad here,

And listen Scientists once thought the world was fat, only 20 or something years ago we thought the electron was the smallist particle.

Two things I learnt, as a physicist.

1. Religious People know far more than scientific people could ever
2. Nothing is Definite.

huh? U changed the subject so fast. Im talking about that i reapply your definition about validation

(not exist => not valid)

If u think that this statement is true, so too many problems will derive from it.
If u think that it's false, then u shouldnt say that because octal number not exist => the equation is not valid.

Anyway, on topic, the answer for the enigma is right, it's symbol of 1-9 symetric

Enigma #24
Type: Medium
Quote:
A taxi driver is in a hurry, he goes in a small road in a forbidden direction. But right after, a policeman stopped him. They discuss for a bit and the policeman let him go. How did the taxi driver manage?

(sorry for the English translation, try to understand)

The taxi driver drove backwards into the road and that way he could always say he was driving to the other direction?
That's the only thing I can think of.

This riddle has near endless possibilities. Bribes, knows the policeman, the "wrong way" sign wasn't present, theres a near limitless amount of possibilities for someone getting off a fine. Hell he could of just given him a warning to be nice.

ok, i should also add that the policeman is a stranger to him, no bribe, no amend. That man went in a forbidden way, in inverse direction, but after all got no punishment, nor any warning, and the policeman did well, fair, and legit his job

The taxi driver was transporting the about-to-burst pregnant wife of the police guy,
thus it counts as a emergency and he allowed it.

He drove in reverse.

What does this have to do with math? It's just Minmax riddle version 2.0

If you drive in reverse you're technically going in the correct direction.

Idc if it's math or not tbh, but if it's riddles, might as well come up with some word riddles.

It said right after, meaning after he left the forbidden road thus not breaking any laws?
