a few more things
"parking lot" - when you buy land to park on, its a parking lot? making sense right?.... so what about a garage? (spoke Gaa-ridge)... a garage is a lot of land that you park your car on right?

also, not that many british people like tea...
its PETROL, not gas... Gasoline is a brand name, you cant say "cola"<--- not brand name.... and then say gasoline... pick brand or no brand.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gasoline

comedian: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comedian

"Garage" is pronounced "gah-rahge" to my knowledge :) not everyone American is an idiot, any more than all Brits like tea or have bad teeth.

Petrol = gasoline, tis not a brand name anymore, guys. Mogas and avgas are sometimes used at the airport.

I don't see why you get so worked up about this wong. Comedians make jokes about every race, culture, language, dialect where ever they can. If they are joking alot about the english right now it's just because something maybe happened and it's just a phase. In a while they'll be back to the mexicans or asians or rednecks...

i pronounce some of my T's, i just dont pronounce them over the top thats all =S i dont say TTTTTTTTTTurTTTTTTTTTTTTTTle.
just "turtle" will do.

gasoline WAS a brand name, you cant just change the brand name to a normal name.. a popular one is a "Tannoy" system... Tannoy is a PA system, PA systems are used for a lot more reasons then just public speaking now so you cant say every PA is a tannoy...

however, if us british want to remove the T's out of our language, we can... its our language!!!

basically no country or group of people speak the "original" English language, and it's difficult to do so. 100s to 1000s of years of local slang, mixing of languages, jews, and environment, prevents the full original language to stay intact, it's not pure anymore, and hasn't been for over a 1000 years. So get over yourself Wong and stop with your ignorant nationalism

I think wong is taking this too seriously
Theres going to be different dialects/pronunciations even in the same country, like Liverpool/London etc.

Now, lets all make fun of Canada :)

Let me ask you this. What do you tell someone to reach for when they are QQ-ing? A Kleenex? That's an example of a brand that is now known as an entire product line, regardless of whether it is Kleenex or any other company that makes "facial tissue"

don't want to ruin your fun, but I've been in almost all European countries and by far England has the most ugly women.

Sprite lemonade wut?
I have never heard someone refer to lemonade as "sprite", hell i didn't even know sprite was supposed to be lemonade (and its not)
And we only call iPods ipods, all others mp3s are called, well, mp3s.
Tylenol, advils are called pain killers, if someone is asking for a tylenol, they are asking for, well, tylenol, not any other pain killer
I agree that we say Jell-o for the square jelly, (not the ones in jars), and band aid.
All your others are shitz0rz, what the hell is dry ice and hoover?

So yeah, that list is a "load of wank", as the brits would say :sohappy:

Hoover is name brand of a vacuum, and Dry Ice, is well really cold ice, but different properties, that I don't know of.

Yah we don't call lemonade, sprite, if they said that, I'd give them a sprite.
