which i hope is mine, lol, though admitably its not as good as what i wanted to do when I realized, we sumbited parts to a whole not our own story, even if you dont' win juey nothing stoping you from writing your story and making a thread, it just won't be called the srf sro chronicles

hi, just a small reminder , you are writing a story on silkroad, which happens around medival times , hence, do make your items or events around that time, for example, light bulbs shuldnt exist just yet, or something like that. I wonder if pocketwatches were invented then o.o?
I think the silkroad dates back to 1500BC, well, maybe the silkroad game doesnt use such ancient date as a setting, especially with euros, technology should be higher, judging from constantinpole, it should be much later date rather than 1500BC ...
When the silkroad extends to medival europe, it should be around 15BC or somewhere there
haha anyway, love your stories, i am never much a writer myself =)

Watches definitely not, but the light bulb referred to the button that indicates you want to help others by answering their questions.

A question should I continue posting the next chapter of my story, or is it only 1 chapter each person allowed here?

its 1 chapter per competition.
after the first chapter has been chosen by our members, there will be a new
competition where you can submit chapter 2.
i'm doing it this way so everyone has a new chance on having their chapter
in the "sro novell". tricky part is, that you need to have read chapter 1 to be
able to write chapter 2

That's also the part that weeds out the lazy and ....less less mentally able individuals. Not too many people will vote on a chapter 3 that starts with, "He swung his fiery glavie with great force at the enemy" when chapter 2 ended with "and with such thoughts occupying her mind, she drew her sword and plunged into the crowd of enemies ahead".
See how we changed both genders and builds between the two chapters? Won't happen if the writers were patient and committed enough to read all the previous chapters.

my idea is leading towards a guild where any number of charectors and backgrounds can be introduced, some of these other entries leave it open for new charectos to come in, and and really even if have a story going one way its not impossible to bring a new peice leadinging into it some stories it might be harder then others but, they all seam to leave a way in

All stories leave a way in, some are more inviting, others require a little innovation, and my example, as we've seen many times could actually be an introduction. 1 chapter leaves off somewhere, and the other starts at that point in time, but for a different setting with another char. Like those commercials on TV where 20 people say 1 word of a meaningful sentence.
Chapter 1:
X is a so and so and he likes to thieve people.
...not much there, most would say the story is about the X guy and his so and so build that he uses in his job as a Thief.
However....
Chapter 2:
X killed Y's parents and in order to get revenge, he trained to become so and so, so he could be a strong hunter and one day kill X.
... and here we turned the plain X is a so and so thief story, into someone else's young hunter sworn to revenge story.
Now a thief gets angry, that it turned into a hunter story, and....
Chapter 3:
X retires and leaves his son Z to defend his title. The young thief learns from his father's trader raiding trials.
... and now we have something for everyone and no matter what your job is you can add a third char introduce them as X's friend and stick a trader ticket on them, and have a triangular conflict story evolving throughout the chapters with a 3 point view on the game.
....this is starting to sound interesting, and almost makes you want to write that chapter one. Someone go do it?

You could have used "Some say they were stronger than Yarkan's minions" and "At the rise of the yellow sun" or something similar. Level 90 just doesn't mean much irl.... and 9am is like saying hyperdrive speed, who even knows what that speed is now? In 1000 years it might be set to 3x10^11, and everyone will know what it means, just like everyone now knows what 9am means, but people back then would be like
well made points ^^
glad you liked the content though =)

Yeah, when I said great, I meant superawesomei'dwriteonthatgreat.
No main character, so lots of freedom there, and the main enemies are the Uniques, so we are all familiar with them. It's just an overall "write on!" (not misspelled) story.

Jangan has a palace, but the king would technically be of china, and would include the western china area where donwhang is.

....fine, you win. Nevertheless, there weren't really people running around with glaives on fire and shooting fire balls at stuff, so it's not like SRO is historically accurate in the first place.

The Chinese silkraod was there since 1500BC...it was extended when Rome became an empire by conquering some of the middle east, in 20BC, and trade continued on for a long, long time.
The silk road was pretty much there all throughout history, so to figure out the timeline you would have to instead look at other things, such as the time of death of Chi'n and the times before the Colosseum was destroyed.
This would put the timeline inbetween 80AD and 1350AD, but if the story starts in china, and does not include any euro chars until later when a time gap is introduced, then the story could start with the very begining of the silk road.

i was just posting the timeline joymax is using, to be more specific joymax is using 770 AD because the tang was at it's peak, and western rome fell, and Islam was conquering the middle east. basically alot of crazy radical shit was going down. normaly i would go into a tad more detail likt you did there [since i history] but meh. im just trying to think of how my chapter two will tie in with your chapter 1.
um yeah joymax pretty much condensed the game into one EPIC YEAR!. 770 AD XD
