Half of you lack the experience to even give a decent opinion or review of WoW. Not to mention almost all of you have yet to play a real MMORPG released by a real legit company.

WoW may not be a game for all, however most of you are basing your opinions off what you hear. Therefore you are discredited when it comes to giving your "2 cents" about video games.

OK, for my two cents  , watched someone play WOW for about 10 minutes :( , asked about the way the "system" works... :? For some reason, it just turned me off right away  , then I stumbled on this forum 4 years ago :) . And there was one thing that grabbed me,

"You COULD play it for free as long as you dont become enticed to do something faster, LOL."

So I challenged myself, to play a game without using any outside monetary influences and you know what? I love it!!!

Now when I have to think about buying a game or paying a monthly onlne fee :? :( :x , I look at it for a few minutes, and unless it is breathtakingly better than the graphic quality of SRO, I could care less :D . So as far as I go, WOW will never be something that I ever pursue 8) .

(But I loved the Warcraft 3, 2 & 1 games! )

But hey, I know there are rabid WOW fans, so no offense to them, just my opinion. 8)

^ I had the same thing as you until I met the GAMEPLAY of WoW.

The gameplay Silkroad offers is.. grinding till ya drop day after day. You can pvp endlessly and you can do jobs (pvp). Wow offers so much more.. in WoW the fun is the leveling itself... a game really is more than graphics alone. At least thats what I found out.

No matter how much you will look at WoW it will always suck. Play it and feel the difference.

Wow is all about gameplay.

You have to be retarded to like sro > WoW.
Seriously, I can understand playing SRO for free, but the truth is, you'll never get far.

But saying SRO is a better game is just dumb.
Just walk to a random leveling zone in SRO.
Bots galore.

how many people who said wow has shitty graphics actually ran the game on max settings? the community, the gameplay, the customer service is all better with wow imo. i started sro at 60cap and quit at 80 with no thoughts of comming back, you just can't compare joymax with blizz.

I can respect that, and who knows, once I reach level 80, I'll see that, but for now, budget-wise, this works out just fine (LOL)

But please dont call me retarded...it hurts my widdle feelings
(Actually it did, but got over it LOL)

Well, if we are going to compare JOYMAX vs. Blizzard, then I'll say Blizzard, I have no idea what happened after they lost some of their staff (Blizz) that is but I do know WOW is strong as far as MMORPGs go and since they take a monthly fee, they must be very successful.

Joymax, customer service? LOL If it wasn't for this forum, I would of quit years ago in frustration but the community at THIS forum has been very patient with noobs whether fresh or aged (LOL).

So you like WOW? Excellent, but again, because of the amount of cash and a cheap comp, I like Silkroad over WOW, sorry, just a personal opinion.

Btw there are some flaws in WoW for example some people get too carried away, this is a "average" guild leader in a raid. http://www.eecs.umich.edu/~dmackay/troxed.swf

LOL

LMFAO....Yep...I'd like to give that guy a big kick in the face :D

One gripe over Silkroad is that once the quests are gone, its just grind till you get sick of it, true. Cannot deny that at all.

The one part that is difficult is that I may be on the game for over 3-5 hours but at home, its more like about 2 hours of actual game time for much major distractions.

Because of these distractions, you can imagine how parties are like:
"I'll catch up later, have to *Insert Babbling Life Event Here*"
"Gotta let the dog/cat/gerbil/Siberian Tiger in/out/kill the postman."
and so forth...

Ya, so it takes about 30 seconds for most people to lose patience in this game, so parties are useless for me most of the time. I can imagine that WOW would have the same issue. So this leads to a question:

Without having 800 friends or being in a guild and starting out with nothing, is it fun playing SOLO?

Cause for Silkroad, without a doubt, fun until grind/leveling gets boring.
(But to be fair, only seen for 10 mins, never played at all, WOW that is.)

Thanks, and again, just an opinion.

youre not supposed to level up in groups in wow. pretty much everyone ive ever met who does is new to the game. you may get some quests done quicker in groups but you get less money, less items and less exp per kill so in the long run its gonna be harder in groups. The only quests you need groups for are group quests, and even then, alot of them can be soloed by most classes.

Well yeah it is :)

I played half of the time on my mage with a friend together, and half of the time I spent on my char I was soloing. It was both alot of fun.

Innovacius kinda said it all, most quests are for solo play. About 1 in 10 quests is a group quest, and if they are not soloable its always easy to find someone to do it with. Type /who in the chatbox and you can see all the players in the same area, filtering by class, race or level. Just PM someone of your level and ask if they wanna do a group quest together. Most of the time the answer will be yes. :)

Group quests dont take very long, most of the time they are even shorter than solo quests. (10-15 minutes)

Only instances and raids can take a long time, but most people prepare for that and stick in the party until the end of the run. And ìf someone has to leave you can invite someone else in the looking-for-group menu any time.

A good group of similar level people who do rather well with a good grind spot. There is a group bonus to exp and if you can all kill at least as fast as you could soloing, then it'll be quicker.

Being to find such a group isn't that easy though and solo questing is very easy since 2.3 upped the exp you get from quests and reduced exp required to level at the same time. They basically want people to 60 fast so they can move on to outland.

My rogue is 25 atm and he's fun XD

LOL i save so much money on WoW compared to SRO. No silk / gold ticket / astral / monkey addiction. Seriously, its far far cheaper.

Just WoW you -have- to pay, and SRO you can like... not pay. But I never 'not payed' lol

Oh, and Wow let you do things like... respec talents...without buying 50$ worth of reallocation potions. LOL.

you had to spend like 50 bucks to get my spear to +5.

yes, sro is cheaper than wow..... NOT.

I spent 10mil getting my staff +5 this morning :P

You must be one of the last people who actually buy astrals or something
