Personal experience to treat related health problems are ok to share, but everyone is different. For future health related threads, try to site some credible information from say a General Practice manual commonly used by GP's in training such as this one. It's dangerous to play doctor on a forum. Hope you get well soon Amelie.

Extra

If you are thinking of pursuing a career in medicine, then the steps of treating a patient are universally the same:
1. What is/are the presenting complaints?
2. Hypothesising the pathology
3. Investigating to confirm hypothesis.
4. Create a management plan
5. Follow up.

Step 3 can't be done via a forum, so it is always better if you just go to a Dr to have it properly investigated.

lower back

Lower back?
Below your ribs, or betveen your ribs?
I had similar cases like this(betveen ribs). I worked my ass off in a factory(oh, old memories), and i gone out from the workstation half naked and my backmuscles cached cold -> pain in the ass.
If this is the case, first, put on some clothes when you sleep(t-shirt is more than enough), and keep your back warm, take long showers with warm water+take B1-B6 vitamins. Helps a lot, but dont take painkillers, worst thing you can do.
Simptomes:
you cant take a deep breath, you cant turn around, coz if you do, its like some evil ninja stab you in the back.
Cheers and i hope you get better in like 1 week.

I've actually gotten something similar to this. It was after doing high hurdles in my Track meet. I went to the doc and he said it was from bending my back wrong when I landed, yes you can hurt yourself in Track. Sadly, my team got pwned by some l33t-haxorz. Forgive me for my previous sentence :(
