Now you're imposing your ideals here. Saying that to not choose to be gay is living a lie and not being true to yourself blah blah blah.

The world has decided my screamo music is rubbish. Hence the reason it's not played all over the radio and loved by teeny bopper girls everywhere.

IF you are gay and you choose to not be gay then you are living a lie. That would be what people call a fact. Its simple logic, you don;t even have to connect dots, its right there for you.

Tell me, what says you are gay? Let's go with my chemical reaction theory.

The chemical reaction gives you the tendency to be gay. You can ignore that and live a straight life.

By this i mean did you learn to be attracted to women via outside influence [seeing male/female couples, looking at parental behavior, information passed down from others] or was it a tendency determined from within [in the absence of all these influences you would still find yourself attracted to women because regardless of the influence it is the women that you are attracted to (physically) and not the social constructs derived from the process of opposite sex coupling]

Note that "tendency to be attracted to" applies no conscious decision made ie "I have a tendency to notice when a light is turned on" I am neither choosing to notice the light or choosing to ignore it just when its on i notice it....

It was a mix of both. I grew up seeing mommy and daddy. Not mommy and mommy or daddy and daddy. But as I grew up, I thought girls were cute and I dated them. I personally preferred Jane over Jimmy.

So are people just born with different sexual orientations? Is it really genetic?

it sounds like you don't have a "tendency" to be attracted to women at all. From the way you were raised, the discovery yourself, and the continuation and admittance to having never been attracted to men it seems like you are....brace yourself...

Now take all that in and bare with me cause im going to do something odd. Im going to flip the script. Take your situations and flip it around. I want you to picture your life and everything thats taken place in it all the way back to that moments when you first found yourself attracted to a female. Not like that first grade girl friend, you just wanted a girl friend back then because kids are stupid. No i want you to think back to that moment where you first saw a girl and was like....i could go for some of that, i could really go for some of that....


I want you to go back to that moment and replace that girl and other girls you've had those feelings for with guys. Thats what it is to be gay. You may grow up in a nice mommy daddy family, you might even get a nice 2nd grade girl friend even though chicks still had cooties, but there comes a time when you look at a guy the way the you will never look at a girl. There comes a time when you see some guy and you think...i could go for some of that. Its not a tendency, its not a switch, its not a choice, no more than any choice you made. You find yourself attracted to something and its not females its males.

Whether you act on this or not IS a choice, but it is what it is. Even if you choose never to have sex with a girl you will still feel that type of way about them. That doesn't go away. I can't beat the straight out of you, i can't yell the straight out of you its a part of you. Choosing to ignore that would be living a lie, if you feel that way about females but choose to act like you like males you would be lying to everyone including yourself.

I don't see why i should have to live a lie for people like you who can't see even a second beyond yourselves wouldn't even for a second attempt to walk a mile in anyone elses shoes but your own while you condemn and condone like your judge and jury and you've got ALL the answers....people like you aren't even close to living a lie for....

Big difference. I won't get offended if someone calls me straight because of the choice I made to be sexually attracted to girls. Whereas gays are offended by the slew of terms thrown at them because of their choice.

Also note that when I say tendency, I mean it in the slang, cynical form.

not only that but i never see where you made this choice. You said that despite mommy+daddy when you grew up you found girls to be cute. I don't see where you had this epiphany and decided i could like tits or i could like dick, now which should i choose. Where did that happen. I've never met anyone who had that talk with themselves. I've never met the guy who was like well when my tie came to choose i decided to go with girls, i think that route has potential.

well try it and let me know how it works. I want you to go test your theory. Its a very simple one to test, just find a guy and turn on your gay switch, make out a little, play with his man jawn, put things in places...and like it of course....

that probably won't happen tbh. Im going to go ask all my straight friends if they find their gay switch and just make the jump cause afaik, they don't have one. No one does.

I asked my gay friend a lot of questions and so far i understander i somehow.
Gay guys find guys attractive the same way str8 girls do,same goes for Lesbians and Str8 guys. (Duh)

look man... there are many people who are claiming that being gay isn't a choice, including gay people who knows for certain and speaks from experience. why are you arguing with people who definitely know for sure?

They don't know for sure. That's the reason there are still tests and experiments being done.

Fact of the matter is that being gay is not the socially accepted norm. Not saying I'm for or against it, I personally don't care. That's just the harsh truth.

One of the more convincing reasons against your theory of choosing to be gay or straight is a glance at the animal kingdom.

Humans are probably the only animal that can make conscience choices. Other animals base their choices on instincts.

If you accept the above as true, animals can't choose their sexual preference.
And if they follow choices by their instincts, all animals should be straight because only straight animals can produce offspring and ensure that the species lives on.

BUT homosexual behaviour has been noticed in nearly 1500 species ranged from apes to worms.


Thus we can conclude people don't choose to be gay.

u cant control something that's hardwired into your DNA. there are people that gets fat how matter how much they eat, and there are skinny people that eats 24/7 and never gain a pound.

for example if you are a born to be a dumbass, then no matter how much time u spend studying you will always be dumb. there are people that are naturally intelligent. they excel at everything with no effort. nothing u can do about it. the world is better when everyone is unique... short and tall, fat and skinny, ugly and pretty, stupid and smart, gay and straight, black and white, rich and poor, etc...

So that means what? That we have the intelligence to discriminate against homosexuals unlike animals. Or that we have the intelligence to pass laws to lock them away. Or that we have the intelligence to fear, hate,or kill them for unknown reasons.

If your imply that because have have higher intelligence we should, even if were are gay, make the conscious decision not to act on it then you're just being a hypocrite. If that were the case then all straight people should make the conscious decision to only have sex with the intent of procreation. All people should make the decision to ignore feelings of love in the face of more rational options and love is anything but rational. Humans are humans. Gay people are humans too.

I still don't see why you seem to think we should act like we're not human. Sex is natural. Gays are natural. No one is getting hurt. So why should we curb our behavior.
