Does anyone have the study that says homosexuality is genetically defined? I hear about it all the time but I've never seen it.
As an openly gay person (
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=110569), I cannot tell you exactly what cause people to be gay but I CAN tell you it is definitely NOT a choice.
I realized I was gay in 4rd grade and I was in self-denial. I've tried so many things to try to be straight, but I realized it was hopeless. It's who I am, and I felt it was already predetermined for me (either by genetics or by my mom's hormones while I was in her womb).
Now let me clear up a lot of things for all you people out there. If someone claims that they can choose to be gay, then they are already gay or bisexual. End of story.
If you are a guy and want to know what it's like to be gay, imagine yourself trapped in a female's body and vice versa the other way around.
Now, personally for me I do strongly believe that being gay is influenced by your genes. I can tell if someone is gay or lesbian with 85% accuracy.
Most gay people I know, including myself, don't go out and "fck" everyone we see. We are very picky on who we have a relationship with. Yes, I am sure there are people out there that will do that, but that is just the exception, just like there are sluts out there that will fck every guy they see.
I also get why people care so much about who we choose to marry. How exactly does that affect you? Mind your own damn business lol. We've made remarkable progress in gay rights and that there's no doubt in the future we will look back and asked ourself why gays are being discriminated against and denied rights. An overwhelming majority of young people support gay rights, while older fights do not. It's a generational issues... so as the old people die off, then that's when equality will be achieved.
Anyways, any questions ask away...
