"hype": First Came out? 9/10, After they revamped about 30 times and changed the game play and the difficulty of getting items? 2/10

Name: Diablo and its expansions, StarCraft and its expansions (is this considered MMORPG?)

"hype": Then Lots of fun 8/10, repetitiveness and age of game makes it now boring 5/10.

Mabinogi
Open Beta
Free

Tried it out today. Open Beta started 3/5/08. Liked it-was promising, and is very different from SRO.

Update: added: Mabinogi*, Starcraft+Diablo, and Starwars.

@Pilot, Is Mabinogi* like the one Jstar played, or is it a different one?

Yes, its the same one, and is Mabinogi.

its pretty fun at first with all the skills and good graphics, but later when you get to pvp, it gets repetitive and boring. Lvling is too, well weird? cause all you have to do is go to a spawn place and afk o.o

Anyone want to try Mabinogi with me :)

Hype: 6/10

Graphics: 7/10
9 Dragons isn’t known for the best graphics, at the lowest settings your player can look blocky and the background very blurry but if maxed out, the game play seems to be much smoother and I rather enjoyed it and is good enough if you base your game play on graphics.

Game Play: 6/10
At the start of play after you have chosen what your character looks like and pick what area to start, need to get used to all the skills like most new mmo’s you play, you start of killing much lower mobs that that won’t bring in much money, you get to learn simple punch and kick techniques which you learn from either a quest of the dummy trainer place. One thing to let you know, the skills that you learn will level based on how many times you used it, so the more you use the skills the more stronger they will become until maxed, this was new to me when I started playing 9D.
After a certain level you can join what clan you want to be in, last time I check there was 4 you can choose from, none of them very different from each other part from the ways that they look and the weapons they use. After all that it’s very useful to join a guild to grind together or just have fun or hunt for bosses. *They are dammed hard to kill* In PvE, they first few levels say 30 is alright BUT after that without good items/weapons you will start to fill the hardness of PvE and that one of the main reasons that most player quit after level 60/70 due to the lack of exp they get from mobs. In PvP, that’s the real fun part, every Sunday you get to PvP against different clans and claim a certain area which gives you great items and loot. Normal PvP is killing each other and btw, you can’t kill your own clan players. *SUKs* The economy isn’t all that bad, kind of easy to make money if you know how to, they have rare items like most games do and one last thing to let you know, if you wanted to heal yourself, normally you would think go buy some pots, but in 9D it’s better to sit down or use skills to heal yourself cause if you wanted to heal yourself normally with items you would have to go into standard mode which means you can’t fight while using pots which kind of also suks.

Sound: 6/10
The sound isn’t all that, seeing I normally would listen to my own music while grinding.

Controls: 7/10
There’s a little to learn from the start and you should feel just at home with the controls normally using the mouse for movement and keyboard for other standard things.

Overall: 6/10
9D isn’t that best game if you want to get in real deep, cause it lacks sparks at later levels and most people would say “it’s the same old grind feat like most other F2P games” you stop getting skills at much to early levels meaning at later levels you’ll be using the same skills at if you were lower levels. Not recommended to anything who wants a good, fun game that will last long, only recommended for a short time play while looking for a better mmo.

Hype: 7/10

Graphics: 8/10
The graphics for FlyFF is what most would call as cartoon*ish but rather cute. The areas are very nicely built and finished with real quality. I would say that if you weren’t to buy anything from the ‘item mall’ you would look like most other players. With maxed out settings the place will have a nice glow and very smooth game play. So isn’t bad at all.

Game Play: 8/10
Like most games you start of at low levels and isn’t really hard to level at all, you can get to level 66 in a month of so depending on how many hours you play per day. There are really good quests that they give up, normally involves you having to kill a certain mob to finish the quest but nothing new to most mmo’s. The community isn’t that bad either, you wouldn’t normally get people coming up to you to chat unless they want something or asking you for help. In towns, it’s normally packed with player stalls or people screaming out “Selling blah blah for blah blah much” and is pretty annoying after a while. The skills that you get are one of the best things about thing game, they look great and is really caroon*ish but very flashy indeed. You start of as a ‘Vagrant’ then you will pick a second class at 15 *I think* which will lead on into a final class at level 66. In PvE the game is simple and you do get a great amount of exp from mobs and even better in events which you get some great items sometimes. In PvP the game lacks all of that. It’s normally 1vs1 which can be boring because it’s normally 1 or 2 skills to kill each other. The one thing that I hated about this game was that they made it possible to buy ‘item mall’ items from people now, which wasn’t allow when I 1st started so the economy is ‘item mall’ based so if you have money in real life to spend on items then your likely to be super rich in game which is one of the main reasons that drew me away from FlyFF.

Sound: 7/10
The sound isn’t bad at all, but I normally would listen to my own music while grinding.

Controls: 7/10
There’s a little to learn from the start and you should feel just at home with the controls normally using the mouse for movement and keyboard for other standard things.

Overall: 8/10
FlyFF is a fun game but wouldn’t satisfy hardcore gamers. It’s more based on for younger players who have just started in to world of online gaming / mmorpgs. For me it was a fun game but it got boring and nothing about it is ‘WOW WOW’ so when I left, nothing about it kept me coming back for more. The game play is good, graphics is fine, sound and controls are all fine. But the ‘item mall’ is the downfall for this game imho. But give it a go if you have spare time to waste.

i'll see if i can fix up a couple of short reviews tomorrow.
most games i played in the past month i only played on low levels, so
the reviews will be just my first impressions of the games. those will
be:

- Immortals
- World of Kong Fu
- Infinity
- WYD
- Fury (gonna check the graphics tonight, 2.6gb client should have nice ones)
- SEAL
- Talisman

i think i forgot one or two.
will be just my basic impressions tho, if you don't want to use those and
only want full reviews, im afraid i cant help you :]

the infinity game, i only played for a little bit.
iirc, it's almost all pvp, no real maps. you choose players to join your
team, then you go on missions, like in guild wars.

not my taste, so not that much fun imo ;]

edit: pffff. installed client for Fury is 7+ gb T_T
patching now, cant try out tonight need to sleep :[
will try tomorrow morning.

Not the best Rakion vid, but it gets the job done. Man so many reviews and games to add, I'm gonna have to put like 5 - 10 minutes aside for it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqACYh8p ... re=related

My Build^ Grip Swordsman.

The great thing about Rakion is that your actual lvl doesn't count for much and its mostly about how much skill you have.

Ragnarok online I know has the infamous War of emperium. It's like a massive castle war kinda thing and the game is all about team play.

Speaking of Ragnarok Online, why isn't that game on the list? One of my all time favorites too :p
