Why is it everytime I turn on the news, the Republicans are on about something petty? We have bigger issues to focus on here, and they don't include where Obama got his dog from or why is he so nice to President Chavez. Don't they have some type of economy to help regulate and to fix? As my favorite biology teacher would have said: Yall are trifflin![/end rant]

The republican party's job is not to help the people but rather the big companies if you think anything but that you are a fool.

Why is there such divide between political parties in USA? I don't know much about American politics, though it just seems that there's a big line down the middle between Democrats and Republicans.

Here; we're forced to like our Prime Minister basically :D

That's the problem with the American political system.

You have to choose one of two absolutes, despite the absolutes being almost right next to eachother.

no they don;t vote because they are lazy fucks...there are other ppl you can vote for...Nader has been running for ages...not that i would vote for him but....

As for republicans, they just mad democrats won the office and the congress so they're trying to bring down their reputation....i'd democrats did the same thing with bush but...i mean he had it coming and by the end of his term everyone was mad at him, even if own pt.

Democrats are a party of No Ideas. Republicans are a party of Bad Ideas...

You have a really right party, and a right party. You should take a look at the difference between a right and left parties in other countries, especially European countries.

It's peoples choice to vote or not vote. This in no way diminishes America's democracy because some people just don't vote.

Exactly.

And its normal for one party to try to bring down the reputation of the other party in many government systems

And by not voting, they are not exercising a right that was won with American blood - a disservice to our war dead.

Do you really think many of the people who dont vote do so because they do not like either party or candidate? Theres a lot of stupidfucks out there who dont give a shit about our country...

Thats not a solution. Forcing people to vote would be even more disastrous...people really wouldnt care and just throw a ballot in just not to get arrested for not doing so.

There needs to be a fundamental change in American politics for people to become more politically active. Which, of course, would never happen.

And here is the center of the problem. The American people are American politics. People forgot somewhere along the way and everyone in power does everything in their power to blind you from the fact that this is a democracy. A representative democracy but a democracy nonetheless. Change in american politics STARTS with change in the american people, not the other way around....

I hate ignorant republicans, just like republicans hate ignorant democrats and so on. I personally have no problem with a republican that can state the facts and have an argument over them, i do have a problem with a republican that would, as an example of a friend "but zomg his name is Barack HUSSEIN Obama", and they would go onto some pathetic rant about him being a Muslim and a terrorist and a bunch of other nonsense.

just a question for republicans, whats your opinion on Rush Limbaugh, kinda curious what you all think.

And can the American people be trusted to do such a monumental thing. Remember, we're the people who voted Bush into office...twice. The people are too weak and faithless. If there's ever a change in how politics is run, it must be done within the government. And of course, that will never happen. Who wants to give up power in the name of democracy?

And yes, Limbaugh is a fascist asshole who's more of a comedian than a politician

People that shouldn't have been programmed in the matrix.

Bill O'Reilly
Rush Limbaugh
Anne Coulter
The entire cast of Red Eye
Fox News
Glenn Beck
Jim Cramer
Nancy Grace
Stephen Baldwin
Ryan Seacrest

Only republican that I've really really liked is Ron Paul.

so the people offered their power up to a dictator and for 8 years he undermined the congress and the court, destroyed our basic civil liberties and started and illegal war..all the while expanding and creating perhaps the most powerful and largest gov't in US history...

Thats the point of the whole story.
People make decisions based on their emotions, like "i hate this, i hate that" and pfoof, there fails democracy...
For me at least.
Influencing people is the easiest thing on earth...
