Seriously...this would've been considered slow during the 90s.

Any suggestions for a new ISP service plan? I'm from NY. I don't need lightning speed, just a regular one that doesn't suck ass.

*Price range would also be helpful :D *

Jesus fucking Christ I wanna' strangle those verizon guys on tv...

I'm pretty sure there's an ISP out there with like 5x the speed of the one I have right now for the same price. It usually doesn't bother me as much but there are times when I can't even play online multiplayer games correctly because of this sorry ass excuse for an internet connection. Hell, if I wanted slow unreliable service, I would've dug up my old dial-up cable.

For the record, it's the family's internet connection. So the plan is to either convince them to change it, pay half, or get my own. One way or another, I seriously can't stand this POS anymore.

Yea, I used to have dial-up a long time ago and convinced my parents to get cable. It's wonderful :D

Eh, prolly depends where you are. I have TW and I rarely have down times unless there has been a power outage, in which case it affects the local servers and normally lasts no more than a few hours. Time Warner is definitely a good way to go in terms of an ISP.

It varies depending on your region.

I had Qwest DSL (640/256kb) for 4 years. In that time it went down twice for about an hour each time.

I currently have Comcast 6mb/1mb. I've had it for over a year and it has not gone down once. However, my router sometimes locks up and I have to reboot it. Aside from that, nothing. Not even a DNS outage. (of course, I use public DNS on mine)

That new game Jade Dynasty? Downloaded 1.4 gigs in about 15 minutes. Actual speed runs about 10 mb. Yeah, I'm happy with their service.
