I enjoyed watching the Dragon Ball series and I even remember the first time I saw episode 1 of Dragon Ball. However, I don't see myself enjoying the series anymore and definitely not the movie. I don't know, it just kinda lost its appeal.
I watched some db as a kid, just couldn't tell you anything about it.
My memory goes as far "there were purple and pink bad dudes".

Nope. I watched it when I was 11. It had hardly any plot. It was just one guy dies and move on to the next enemy. It took 10 episodes for a spirit bomb and 20 episodes for one fight. It was garbage and only people nostalgia-guys like it. I watched so many anime. It's not even in my top 100. It's really trash compared with good anime like Evangelion.

Well excuse us for being 10/11 and not really giving a fck about plot, themes and deep motives. I'm sure you were an adult by the age of 10. The action was the best, powerlevels over 9000 and well Goku & Vegata, need i say more? If you didn't watch DBZ at a younger age, you must have been of those guys that eats his lunch alone during breaks

ahaha i wasnt watching it but i was reading the book though, i remember when i bought the tome were trunk flip out and almost go ssj2 that was a beast moment.

It has a better soundtrack, better animation, it's not dragged on(10 eps for a Spirit bomb and 20 eps for one fight; 3 episodes of screaming) it does not have tons of episodes, and it has a story. I've seen quite a good handful of anime for my own sake. Imo, Gurren Lagann is amongst my top favorite and tops the charts over DBZ myself, but over Evangelion.. not really. With newer anime shows coming out, obviously DBZ will never stay at the top, but for those who grew up watching it, most definitely. Plus you cannot compare Gurren Lagann to DBZ, the gap when both were made is just too vast.

DBZ, clearly isn't the best anime out there. I grew up watching dbz and stopped watching after the destruction of cell, which summed up 2/3 of its series, I think. You're comparing two different anime genres, of course there will be plenty of differences and none of which you are able to see cause you're blatantly oblivious to that fact. DBZ was made and directed towards young kids while Evangelion was targeted towards a more mature audience that understood its setting.
