media has little or no effects,
education and family values are everything.

I think it only effects a tiny tiny part of the teenage population.

come on guys lets get a good debate going there is so much controversy in RL plus my teacher loves mmorpg's so i see some extra credit in the future but i see it as if there is proper supervision there should be no correlation and violent games/music/tv can be a release for violent thoughts

I think its media plus the child's surroundings (the type of neighborhood he/she lives in, how they are raised etc.) If you are living in an urban area where violence is not uncommon and then add the media violence, its almost impossible not to do something violent so you're thought of as cool or tough.

lol It's like asking if turning on a furnace effects the heat of a room. It doesn't even have to be violent either, media will always effect kids.

yes it does...
lemme ask u guys... how many of you guys say noob, if yes there u go u get influenced by online community. Your parents did not tell u to say noob.

which of you say f***? thats an influence of media, and I really hope your parents did not encourage you to say f***.

media is a wide range of influence, hence advertising is commonly used by retailers.

I agree with people who says parents have more influence, sure before you turn 8.

but depends what kind of media your stressing about talking about
Reference.com definition
2. (usually used with a plural verb) the means of communication, as radio and television, newspapers, and magazines, that reach or influence people widely: The media are covering the speech tonight.

so to conclude....
Media = wide range of influence
wide range includes = many variety be it sexual fetishes or violence

Your iq isn't 152. If your Iq was 152 then you wouldn't of posted about having problems quitting sro. O.k?

Really, my iq is 152, but if yours was that big, you'd have figured out yourself how addictive the game really is.

Ok. My name is "Calin Andrei" Born 10.12.1992. last year, I was 7'th degree in school. I participated in the national phase of the maths olympiad of my country. I'll send you a link where you can see my name on that board. Is that proof enough???

link: http://portal-isj.is.edu.ro/onm2006/rezultate.php

At place number 51, for the 7'th graders, you can see my name 8)

EDIT: you won't understand much of the text, but you can look for the problems given and tell me if you solve anything out of them.
