Which one is more offensive? A moron next door was playing with a flag of our cuntry an hour ago, he ended up burning and trashing it, my friend invited him to fight but the guy went straight into his house.

So which one is more offensive to you? I'll go with books burning.. it's knowledge, passion and record what you're destroying, it's just wrong.

Assuming it's in a large scale
Book burning, it's a sin against humanity well assuming your not burning novels unless it's a classic novel, your doing us all a favour ridding us all of worthless trash.

If it's just some neighbour burning crap I wouldn't care as long he ain't burning my shit wasting his own money.

Id say flag burning is more offensive than book burning.. books are just like garbage.. If not they will become garbage one day!

Both depend on the context. If my country is doing something fking retarded, and I saw my flag being burnt by people, I would understand, naturally. But if it was just some retard doint it for no reason, I would be offended.

But like Xemnas said, if someone was burning books (and not on a large scale) in his own backyard, I doubt it would matter much. Just let him waste his own money.
And in this digital age, even IF the book burning was on a large scale, I'm sure we still have those books on record someplace, somewhere - even if it was the Declaration of Independence being burned, I think that it's really the ideas and concepts established by it are more important than the actual document itself.

Well, because I think the idea of a nation-state needs to be rethought and potentially dismantled since it is social construct, I don't really get angered by the burning of a symbol (another construct).

Book burning doesn't really bother me, unless it is done as censorship rather than in protest.

Flag burning is a bit different. You can disrespect my flag whenever, wherever you want. If you are going to do it in my country though, don't go waving your old flag around while you do it. That's just rude.

Do you understand the significance of book burning? Obviously you place more emphasis on a symbol of a country, one that has been mistreated in many ways...for example, many people speak about "AMERICA" as if it were their favorite football team, not a country. If people burn the flag, what REALLY does that do other than piss you off? Is the country weaker because of it? Also, if you feel threatened by it, then that seems a bit illogical also. Not many people go around burning flags. However, if it got to the point where a large number of people were doing so, then I think that is indicative of some US policy that is really angering people and needs to be addressed. However, burning books is usually done by those in power to suppress the free thought and free speech of people and to limit the spread of "controversial ideas" which might lead to the destabilization of the status quo for the governmental body in power.

I see nothing wrong with burning a book.

Burning the flag though I'll gladly invite you for an ass kicking. Just because you can do it doesn't mean you should.
