What do you do in order to feel better, or even not have those at all? Me I just try to stay awake till at least 2 hours after I had my last drink, I also drink half liter of water, and right before I'm going to sleep I drink another half liter with 2 aspirins. When I can't plan anything I just drink a lot of water ad fall asleep

hair of the dog!!!! it is the best cure. whatever you were drinking the night before, have one if you feel shitty the next day, whether its a shot or slamming a beer.

or if you're hardcore like cereal_killer...have a redeye! its a can of bud light, v-8, raw egg, and tabasco. i want to puke just thinking about it, but he sucks them down on the regular. he swears by them, then again he is a professional bartender (a nice way of saying drunk)

Once you get used to it it's not that bothering. I don't get hung over too bad anymore, but that water stuff is bullshit. Typically if I drank enough to have a hangover to complain about, I don't remember drinking. If I don't remember drinking, how am I going to remember to drink water.

drink at least 1 pint of water before you go to sleep, and dont go to sleep right after drinking. I usually leave it about 2 hours.

IF i do end up with a hangover this is how i sort it out (some people may disagree but this works for me). DONT go and get a drink or any food, youll feel bad for longer. If you dont drink anything you start to feel more and more nauceous. Drinking water or anything holds this back but you still feel bad. (heres the bit most people dont like) let yourself be sick, its the best thing, it gets rid of all the crap thats making you feel bad. Of course, thats not very enjoyable but i always find i feel a hell of alot better afterwards. And then of course take some painkillers or whatever you do if you have a headache too.

i dont get hangovers if i do nothing but drink, i wake up fine the next day and go about like normal but if i eat anything im screwed, i end up with a hangover. Which sucks because drinking alcohol makes me incredibly hungry :banghead:

Let's get scientific here :

The first thing alcohol does is cause dehydration. Alcohol switches off an anti-dehydration mechanism in the body, causing you to urinate more often than you should.

Alcohol also stresses your liver, making it less able to produce glucose. Glucose -- sugar -- is the fuel that drives every cell in your body. Brain cells are particularly susceptible to a shortage of this fuel.

Alcohol also affects the chemicals that cells in your body use to communicate with each other. One of these chemicals is prostaglandin, which regulates the way you feel pain, among other things.

Finally, alcohol has an inflammatory effect, making your blood vessels swell. This is why some people don't have to wait until morning for their headache.

What to do before and during :

First eat a greasy meal before drinking.

Greasy foods coat the stomach and slow absorption of alcohol. And most greasy foods are full of carbohydrates, which turn into sugar in your body. That gives you an extra supply of the sugars alcohol causes to drop.

When choosing an alcoholic beverage, consider clear ones.

Dark beverages, such as red wine and whiskey, contain more of the flavorful substances called congeners. These natural byproducts of alcohol fermentation may contribute to the inflammation that worsens alcohol headaches.

When drinking, don't guzzle. Sip alcoholic beverages slowly. Give your body time to process the alcohol.

Between drinks, have at least one big glass of a nonalcoholic beverage.

Water is excellent. Fruit juices, such as tomato juice and cranberry juice, help your body replace the glucose it has lost due to alcohol. Soft drinks may also help in this way -- and the caffeine in some of these drinks may help counteract the swelling of small blood vessels caused by alcohol.

If you do consume caffeine, be sure to increase your water intake. Caffeine causes your body to lose water -- and nothing is more important than avoiding dehydration when drinking.

Lay off the cigarettes. Lay notes that smoking keeps your brain from getting the oxygen it needs.

What to do after :

"The most important thing is dehydration, drink some water."

Even if you could manage it, a greasy meal isn't a good idea at this point. But you need something in your stomach.

Eat something bland, with protein and carbs -- a poached egg on toast should do the trick.

And take in some sugar. Acidic juices aren't going to go down well -- but a little tomato juice or apple juice would be great.

If that doesn't work than you're screwed

What Agent420 said. I used to do the craziest stuff. My nickname in Uni was Mixer because I never drank the same drink twice in a night. Then you finish university and you can't decide to sleep through work like you could class (well, not as often anyway) and you find yourself slowing down because that extra sleep is what always saved me. Now to avoid the hangover I stick with Vodka all night and try to get some water in there between drinks and oh yeah, eat a big sub or sandwich before going out to have something in the stomach to help soak up the alcohol.

I am not a big drinker anymore but "back in the day" I drank in rotation to keep the sickies away. 1 shot, 1 beer, 2 bottles of water, cont....

If I did end up with a hangover, I just took some tylanol pm and slept it off.

You got it, though id avoid the meds, bad enuff youre drinking, the meds only make the liver suffer more id imagine.

I personally have had like 3 hang overs in my life, and I plan to neve ever have one of those again. I just don’t over drink. And I drink a lot of water. Like a glass of water in between beers or shots or something. Stay hydrated, and have self control. :D

Exacly the same for me. I dont get hangovers but my stomach feels like its eating itself from within.
I just have to eat a good breakfast, and its all gone.
