Bought this today after playing it on my friend's Xbox last week. Pretty freaking epic, like all the other CoD games. Gonna patch this baby and play some SP for a bit.

Anyone know how MP is on PC compared to the 360? I'm sure with a mouse people are able to get more accurate kills but if I learned anything from CoD 2 it's that people love their spray and pray.

Harder to aim on consoles, but much more fun. People do spray but it's not like the wild-spray-everywhere-accross-the-screen-until-you-get-a-kill spray =|

Stick with the single shot guns like the G3 and you'll see how much better they are.

sp is good. refrences to airplane! are always good. Anywho, my friend played the beta on his 360 but got it on the pc and enjoys the pc version more, but peoples play styles depend on the server.

You pick a server which is always packed your going to get alot of immature people who run around spraying and complaining about every death they have. Servers that arnt always full and are realtivly quiet usually have more mature players who dont just spray like crazy and dont complain left right and center and are generally pleasent if you try to talk to them.

Played it on normal and couldn't get past that Farking 'let's wait forever for the copter' level. Had to replay it on easy and it actually didn't ruin the exp.
Game's good but overrated imo.

GET COD 4 for PC!!!! Mp is way better, 20v20 no lag is better than a 9v9 Xbox lagfest.

PC > xbox imo. more movement, and faster.

CoD 3 wasn't developed by Infinity Ward (they made 1, 2 and 4). And it only was released for consoles (funny, because 1 and 2 were PC only... 2 was released for xbox 360 later but it was originally PC only).

Maybe the lack of PC version made it less popular, besides the fact of the different developer (Treyarch, the ones who made 3, will make CoD 5 too if i'm not mistaken). In fact, at the end of CoD4 there's a reference in a song to this, it says something like "Call of Duty 4, the true sequel of Call of Duty 2" or something of the sort.


Anyway, i loved the single player campaign with the exception of a mission or two but it was an awesome experience, specially the first one, night + storm + middle of the ocean + arriving in stealth = great.

Yeah just sucks they are going back to WWII, different campaigns though

I have to agree there. Even when i love the WWII theme, it's been overused and, unless they make an extraordinary job, i doubt it will be all that impressive.

All of them, except 3, are good. What they need to do is make one on Vietnam or Korea.

Yeh I have it for PC not Xbox. MP on PC is pretty fun, I like it more than on the Xbox since I feel like I'm more in control of what I'm doing. I can't aim for shit with a stick sometimes. The only thing I don't like is the MG's have like zero recoil, when they should be the worst recoiling guns in the game. Ranking system is kinda meh, there really isn't a need for it since you can just pick up dudes' guns off the ground and use them. Anyway level 1-5 I got in just 1 round by topping the scores.

People spray in non-hardcore, if you play hardcore people don't tend to spray their m60 all over the place, they actually aim.

not hard to spray with crosshairs though. i really tend to stay away from HC though, i still need certain things to make me feel like im playing CoD.

HC sucks donkey balls. too much spray and pray cause people know they only gotta hit you once or twice to get the kill.

PC if you're competitive... Console if you just want fun.

I got bored of the call of duty games after 3. I like medal of honor games better I think. MOD Airborne ftw?

i hate that now there are a lot of games being released to consoles and not for PC...

cod4 on PC is awesome, tons of servers with different mods, hardcore and non-hardcore

and hacks, though i dont use them
also my game is cracked :\ still a lot of fun

The thing is the sprayers always run into the same place, after a couple rushes by them they are useless.

Hardcore is fun but the UAV still ruins it, especially in larger games.

Went on a rampage with the Skorpion yesterday, people aren't used to SMG rushing in CoD 4 like they are in 2. Plus the Skorpion is insanely accurate for some reason. The VZ61 is a good gun I guess, or they just wanted to make it not suck at anything but ranges of 5ft.

Shotguns and MG's are the fakest thing of the game though. Shotguns can't hit anything past 5ft and the MG's have no recoil at any stance. The sniper rifles are hideously inaccurate unless you're aiming too. AND the P90 is pretty lame, since the thing just spits out so much ammo you can't really react.

Best way to beat a p90 is to either out-spray them or aim. I find that most p90 users forget to aim and it takes a simple shot in the head to kill them. You could also bunny hop but people whine about that.

Bunny hopping is terrible. I saw a guy last night that would always jump and prone the instant he saw an enemy. Freaking skill-less noobs.
