I relation to gaming, don't bother. IMO in action I rarely notice anti-aliaicing except in 3-D movies and never in FPS. (Though I can't say I play FPS too much)
Ya Reise explained it good. If you are playing a game with not so intensive graphics(like any mmo) enable it but if u playing games like Crysis or COD4 I just leave it off to get better FPS

Trying going to Shat with high settings on a full population server.
*Spoiler is a quote of a post I made in one of the WoW topics. Pictures inside - those aren't GFX demanding at all.
Spoiler!

I've played both. I rather the 40 vs 40 AV BGs, ability to buy armor and items according to the honor you've earned, and much more competitive and stable arena system.
/thread-hijack I just hit 70 less then a week ago too, I should of made a thread. I was cheering too much to take a screenshot when I hit 70, but I have one I took the day after.
On the subject or wow and sro. I agree WoW is much slower, considering you can't leave a bot on 20 hours of the day to play for you. It normally takes a person ~200-250 hours to get to 70 on their first character. I wouldn't be surprised if 79-80 on SRO takes that alone. Not to mention, I lvled doing quests and instances, rather than grinding the same mobs for 600+ hours of /played time.
It also makes me laugh when players pick on the graphics. WoW is very scalable, on a high end computer it looks amazing. Not to mention that the terrain is terraformed and has tons of objects that take up a lot of GFX resources - compare that to the endless open plains of SRO with a random hill and tree in the middle of no where. See pictures I googled below, maybe in a bit i'll get in game and take a picture of myself flying on a gryphon somewhere, hundreds of feet off the ground looking down on the massive world, that takes like 20 minutes to fly from north to south on 1 of 2 continents located in the 1 of 2 realms.
Edit: here's some pictures I took flying over a zone in norther kalimdor - ill grab some more of other places in a second.
Here are pictures flying over a zone in the expansion, note I run on 1680x1050, and I don't have grass or mobs to draw from extreme distances, yet it's still much more complex than SRO.
Here are pictures of the capital city in the expansion, again, I don't have people or mobs to render from this altitude.
Here's one of my interface. I used to have an extremely modded interface, but it's too difficult to use when you play on more than one PC, and public PCs. I'm a paladin, so I don't have that many skills on my interface, but my other characters have more.
GG SRO fanboys that have never played WoW or have barely touched it, yet argue that SRO is better. WoW has 10,000,000 subscribers for a reason, without counting those that used to play or play on private servers.
True you wouldn't want to have AA on during a time like that But if WoW is designed better than sro and actually makes use of the graphics card not just cpu and ram intensive like sro then it should run massively more smooth in crowded areas, if u got a decent card at least.
Depending on the person, human eye tracks 70-100 FPS. If you can reach that threshold with AA on it wouldn't matter.
Oh true true, don't get me wrong.
But I've always been a:
Singleplayer = Max Multiplayer = Lowest of the low.
Even played UT99 in 640x480 low low low low etc etc for a while when I was competitive. Just 'feels' better to me, all tho as you said .. it's impossible to know the difference between 100 FPS and 400 FPS.

Dunno about you guys but every time I hear some fool say 30fps is the most you can see, I laugh. I can easily tell the difference between say 30 and 70 fps, and even up into the hundreds. Whoever taught you that people can only tell up to 30 fps is wrong.

I believe the normal is 77, but pro-gamers have been tracked to around 100.
meh anything above 30fps is playable, and at 60+ it doesn't really matter lol. Personally I like to leave AA off unless the card absolutely rapes the game because I like having 60+fps It is defiantly easy to tell the difference between 30,60, and 100 fps in game tho for example.
Gotta have maxed AA on everything, how can you play a game with all the jaggied edges everywhere gets so annoying... and if you can run it get a better GFX card lol, so mmuch better with AA maxed

After 2x, the results are affected by diminishing returns and are marginal. Most of the time having it set to 2x will result in smoother framerate and better visual quality, rather than 6x or something higher.

Always run x4 on everything including COD4, when I get my Sli set up later in the summer will probably up it to x8. But I cant play with less than x4 if I do I get headaches after a while.
Althought I do agree in the more modern games the textures are alot cleaner and the AA doesnt realy have that big of an effect like it used to, I can rmember playing BF2 with no AA and then maxing it and seeing such a huge difference, now its only marginal after x2.
