Go to Control panel and click classic view( go to network connections and right click on your connection and click properties, click once on Internet protocol and then click properties again, and make sure that it says Obtain Ip address and DNS server automatically. If it don't then just click the bubble and click ok.

Had this problem before, it's a glitch with wireless cards IIRC. I had to disable a bunch of stuff, like file sharing, printer sharing etc. Restart the laptop and reset the wireless card - it should then launch properly.
Also, what you would need to do is get your router out, check how old it is, if it's new then go ahead with the fix. If you've had it for a couple years, check if it allows TCP scaling.
