I just started stupid Norton retard scanner (I wasn't using it on my computer before) and now I've noticed my computer is way slower than it was before, and look at the memory usage on my computer: And I'm only running task manager and opera. What's with this? This isn't cool. Or is it normal? I haven't ever really payed attention to my memory usage before.

Vista is harsh with memory usage because of it's GUI. It's worse with laptops because they use shared memory, hogging up all the ram. Even if you're not on a laptop, it looks like you don't have much ram to start with.

I'm on a laptop, and it's about 1 gig of ram (I have like 959mb I think).
Do you think norton did this? I swear I can tell a difference in computer speed, and it's pretty significant.

Since you didn't mention any of those, I assume you are relatively unaware that they are all sucking up resources. Then again, Vista and useless antivirus can't be helping.

The Panda security program plus Norton Antivirus seem to be the issue. (I'm assuming the Panda icon is for a Panda Security product)
Since they're both most likely checking files in your computer in real-time (meaning every file you open or look at is being checked in the background for viruses, etc) it will destroy your computer's performance making it very difficult to do anything. I suggest you get rid of one of these (preferably Norton- it's a huge resource hog) and you'll notice improvement in performance. You can also get rid of both of them and look for another security program that doesn't use many resources. (NOD-32 plays nice with resources)
[To uninstall an application, you can go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs -or- Click Start > In the search box, type in "Add/Remove Programs" and it will display the utility for you. You can uninstall the Yahoo! application with the utility as well.]
I also see that you have Windows Aero enabled, which is also a big resource waster. My suggestion is disabling it if you don't mind using Vista without all the useless eye candy. (Desktop > Right-Click > "Personalize" > "Window Color and Appearance" > click "Open classic appearance properties for more color options" > choose another theme from the drop down box that isn't Windows Aero )

Vista + 1GB ram is fine.. You just can't run anything else.
