i need some help...

3 weeks ago i bought a HD 4870, when i play sro i get lines and stuff trough my screen and my pc freezes... i only get that with Sro and Cs:s i dont get this error with Tf2 and cod4 :S

so what could be the problem ?


my pc specs are

Motherboard: P5Q Pro
CPU: Q6600 2,4ghz
RAM: 4gb 800 mhz

Try turning V-Sync on
This should help about those "line things",dunno what can cause your pc to freeze

well i get line's when my pc freezes


and i already send the old back, and got the new card today

but it did the samething :S

Reminds me of the time I had a radeon 9600xt .. I had the same exact problem.. no ATi for me since then. Nvidia = foolproof

freezing usualy happens when your GFX card is getting overheat :p
I remember 1 of my friends who bought this video card or the 50 one , he said it works 80* from the start , no matter idle or not , maybe some drivers are ****ed up? :)

Its something wrong with your card, this card absolutely pwns i envy you owning it :D. It pwns 9800gt, even with SLI. I really dont know what to tell you besides send it back and tell them

Looking at your hardware, do you have an additional system fan?

My guess is not, and I'm quite sure ;)

hmm yes i do have a case fan...

and even when i put my Graphic card cooler to 100% it still crashes :S

The lines are probably artifacts.
-Overheating
-Not enough power
-Bad drivers
Take your pick.

freezing can be from overheating hardware, used to have freezing and weird glitches from overheating graphics card.
Is the tower on carpet or next to a wall by any chance? could be why its playing up.
