The Talk Like a Pirate Event will last through 11:59 PM Pacific (-7 GMT) on Tuesday.
Thought it'd be a weekend event, it's nice they make it last a little longer.

I'm waiting for GW2 but chillin' on GW1 until it gets out. Doing some simple farms and talking like a ninja and all that. Most of the people in my alliance are 100% sure that GW2 is gonna get released in a month lol.

They havent changed it on the main site, and while there are lots of Nov 2 2010 dates, i see lots of 2011 ones as well. Id love to have it in a month, but I dont believe it :(

The best way to not make it feel like it's taking for ever is to not care. I used to visit GW2Guru everyday, that made me so impatient as I wanted news everyday. Just kinda "forget" about it until there's some news, makes the wait so much easier :P

Anyways, this should be fun for iPhone/iPads/Android user.

First off, I'm really psyched for Guild Wars 2. It's on my list of games that I'm waiting to play, and ignoring others because I just don't want to waste the time (FF XIV example).

But I do not think GW2 will be released in 2010. My impression is it will be 2011, and not even early 2011, somewhere around Q2/Q3 2011.

Maybe closed beta starting around November/December of 2010.

Pretty much 100% sure game won't be 2010. But Beta for November-December would be realistic. And they said that the beta will be really close to release. :D

Been watching some videos and articles about GW2 and I got to say, my Rift hype is gone and I eagerly waiting for GW2 now. How ever, do I need to play GW1 to understand anything about the story etc?

Story isn't too relevant but I liked all three of them, wouldn't waste time buying gw1 now.

on a side note, does anyone know by any chance know, or can guess why any GW related site (excluding the unofficial wiki) won't open up for me? it says as if they are down, or my internet is down. This is up for over a month too.

Yeah GuildWars 2 website have been having problems in the past week. You're not the only one.

It's not a must but it would help you understand who are the races. Also, a lot of locations from GW will be found in GW2. It's always cool to visit a place you've known before but that totally changed after some universal event. But too be honest, I woudn't pay for all 4 games at this point just to know the storyline. Check the Wiki for the storyline of all the games.

Ok, well either way I checked the prices, there was a special pack for all the expansion for just 30 euro, kinda cheap and I strongely consider buying it.

For the first time, you can explore the full Guild Wars world within one box set: Guild Wars: The Complete Collection. This collection includes all three standalone campaigns, Guild Wars ("Prophecies"), Guild Wars: Factions, and Guild Wars: Nightfall, as well as the colossal expansion Guild Wars: Eye Of The North.

For 25 euro, but they are out of order atm. :<

Read GW2Guru, everyone is worried about the lack of information. :( I don't know whats happening in ANet's Offices, but did they promise one more profession reveal for 2010 along with some PvP information.

As for the Guild, I already got me one(from GW). Good luck with yours :D

A new profession will be released in January 2011.
For anyone who's been following Guildwars2guru Martin Kerstein officially announced it.

Many people of sro are really quitting to go Gw2.
Botting is pointless in a game like guildwars2.
Everyone will be legit and like that they are too since Gw2 is meant to be enjoyed thorougly.

Quote of Martin:

Quote:
Hello my fellow Guild Wars 2 enthusiasts.

As a little Christmas present - we will show you folks a new profession in January. Spread the word.

The only thing that really bugs me of GW2, or GW overall is the cash shop, sure what I've understanded the cash shop doesn't give any advantage or whatever, I rather have a monthly fee and know that I never have to pay more than just for expansions.

Yea but even WoW has a cash shop and that is p2p.

Yeah read it on GW2Guru. Now, I'm going to read the 1000 pages of QQ because the profession wasn't released on the first second of January...

You won't. Four years of GW and I didn't spend anything on the stores. It's not your usual Korean F2P stores. It has a couple of costumes and mostly skill packs for the lazies.

Reminds me of the QQ'ers on MMORPG.Com , Gw2 won most anticipated game for 2011 ahead of Star Wars The Old Republic on there, not to the delight of some people in the comments section of the article.

Seem to be the biggest anticipated games out there atm.
I 2nd ExSoldiers opinion on cash shop.
Let's just say, nothing tempting like the cash shop in silkroad.

This month...this month... :( Knowing Martin and his tendency to troll/tease the GW2 Community, it'll probably be released Jan.31 :x I just want the name of the freaking BML

On another note, I bought the GuildWars book "Edge of Destiny". It's actually a good book, despite being based on a video game.

It explains how Destiny Edge got formed and disbanded. It's nice because it gave me hints on some of the professions. Also gives a lot of lore. Like the Mesmer profession will be there 99,9% because Queen Jennah is said to be using "mesmer" magic several times. Same for the Assassin/Rogue, Caithe is always described being sneaky and finding weak spots to stab with her white stilletos. Oh well, still got a couple chapters to go. Worth the 9,99$.

The concept arts is amazing, but does it look real? no, and the day a game looks real is the last day I will ever touch a game again.
