Well, I live in australia and we get 15GB of bandwidth usage a month, when we exceed that then we get to have dialup speed until the next month.

But, since I can log on first thing in the morning and stay on, I will just leave it on until I get home from school. However, if i leave it at the character select screen, will I get disconnected and will it take up a lot of bandwidth if it is sitting on that screen for around 6 hours?

Try this:

Login to the character select screen, shut down your internet connection. Get back home start internet connection select character and play. Dunno if it'll work.

These kinds of games use up very little bandwidth, you could sit in Hotan all day long for decades before you use up 15gb.

If you want to be sure you could try a network monitor to see how much downstream SRO actually uses. Might be extra handy in your case to make sure you don't exceed the 15gb :)

You'll get 'Disconnected from the server'

Once when u disconnect your internet connection, u lose ur data packets which means no internet activity.. so u will not be able to LOGIN to select ur character... :)

I won't disonnect my internet, but leaving it on the character screen won't disconnect me right?

I don't agree on paying for an online game. Sorry, plus I am lazy and don't want to get a job and earn cash, plus I would rather go out and party like a normal 16 year old. :P

it may. you'll probably be the first one to go when a premium user tries to connect.

I don't bother logging out unless I'm obviously dc'd or there's an inspection, I'm too lazy to type the stupid image thing everytime. The game hardly uses anything, less than 1mb a day, it would take 40 years running all day to use 15gb lol

Don't leave it at the character select screen. Every time I've dont that for a longer time, I've been disconnected from the server. Better log on and sit down at a secluded area in town.

I think it'll take more than 1mb a day if you let it run 24 hours a day :?. Especially since you need to upload a lot of info to the server and visa versa.

That is 24 hours though, I don't log out, when I'm done grinding I sell my drops at night. I've used 7mb in 9 days all on sro. I use my other pc for everything else like music, films etc.

My stepdad is blaming the onlien gaming for taking up download space, so I want to know if I played roughly 3 hours a day, and didn't leave it running, if it would use 10gb in a month?

One time i got disconnected when I was on the character screen. So I played around and clicked Create new Character. And guess what? I got reconnected into Silkroad. Not sure if it will work all the time though.

I do not plan to stay logged on all the time anymore, since I just bought a premium. I just want to know if SRO is going to chew up my bandwidth.

Well just go to your ISP provider's web page and there should be a place to log in with your account and stuff..atleast thats how mine is. And in there I can see the bandwith I have left for this month.

But as the others said...the ammount of bandwith sro uses is just...minimal.
