see? that wasn't too hard and now everyone has cleared up this misunderstanding of many months. thank you so much ^_^

Hearing information and your other post about GM posting is a relief. Also GM Pizza came on Troy last night. I saw PooprScooper globaling Hi GM pizza so I pm'd her and we had a short chat. But at least she was on doing some bot hunting. Also she said her English isn't good so probably couldn't understand half of what I was trying to say XP. No idea whether a ban list will ever come out again, but they are there checking on bots and stuff.

Yea, GM Pizza was asking for me to kill her. I beserked on her and only did about 9 dmg....

I thought this thread was just made. I read all the way up to where the person started talking about getting rabits and then checked the date... Haven't read on so far but an interesting read. Makes me want to not come back and play even more! Sad thing is I really do want to play but the conditions are just so demoralizing... Doesn't seem like I would even make it past 1 or 2 days of playing tbh...

Interesting read, even though it's quite an old thread. I wonder what ever happened to the SAs. Are they still around at all? It would be nice to at least hear some form of communication from Joymax other than their announcements on the game launcher and a few replies on the official forums from morningdew.

It would at least show us that they are awake and actually care about us here. Do any JM employees actually visit SRF? I'd imagine it would be with a made up account so they don't get spammed/flamed/etc.

The SAs are still alive, but the SA forum hasn't been posted on by a GM in about 6 months. No idea if they even read it. They seem to react fast enough when serious bugs are posted there, but any of the bot complaints etc. are ignored.

I've decided to let this topic stay open. Even though it's old and dusty there is plenty of information in it about a part of history of silkroad.

Why? People should know of how this game was. Remember, knowledge is power
As long as discussion remains about this subject (and not about the date -.-) this topic will remain open. Otherwise, it will be locked.

Well written, but i don't believe that the actual bot makers, like isrobot would keep a list of its user's account and redistribute them after 60 inactive days.. if they do, they would just hack the account themselves and sell it on ebay, obviously if they are smart enough to make a bot, they would be smart enough sell accounts
i mean, if they sell the list to someone else, that would jeopardize their name as the buyer could be someone that wants to set them up

If the 500k list is the one I think you're referring to, I don't think that is just a list of bot accounts. I remember a thread around here somewhere that was posted regarding a list like this. If I recall correctly, one of my accounts was listed on there (I have accounts on a couple different servers to log on and say hi to various people). However, I have never even touched any type of bot software.

Granted, I don't remember if the list was user IDs, or character names.

it was user ID's, and its hard to believe that when that list came out which was quite some time ago that there was 500k botters in the game, it came out back when JM was still doing active bot bans, but its hard to say whos ID's they were, mine and a few of my friends ID's were not on there and we have been playing since fall of 2006.

In that case, I wouldn't want to see people crying "OMG you're on the 500k list!! BOTTER!!!!" Maybe the list was just developed by farming user IDs off of the official forums back when they had that <quote="userID"> bug that allowed people to discover your ID just by quoting you. I'm not sure though of course.

I just heard that the SA program is still considered active by Joymax, they do read the SA forum, but they've just been very busy. They'll try to be more active in that regard, so perhaps we may finally get some answers. :)

@PR0METHEUS and ShadowSpell

I think the 500k list was harvested from silkroadonline.net's forums. I know there used to be some serious holes in their site. Back in like 2006 you could inject all kinds of crap into their web forms and do unspeakable things. :D I've seen a pic here on SRF of the SRO main site with a message from a hacker right on the front page... it said something like "Fix your aweful security!" haha

Location: Quit because of:cheats, bots, scammers, hackers, fools + Joymax over priced game and lack of action
Its clear from joymax's actions that they only listen to users if it makes, $USD roll in fast. PT, PT+, ST, avatar items any one. Silkroad is inadequately managed and as long as it says this way. SA (no disrespect) have as much power as the average joe in game. I've seen morningdew[S] post many messages that players should bug report iusse's, for GM's and or korean staff to take (no) action. When customers have asked and questioned in game help or support via community members. The typical response is: they would or have abused power and all re-actions (or lack of) to issues and reports are handled in house to control abuse.

I don't see anything changing unless people are replaced and educated (higher management). What forces most business to change is legally they have to or the flow of money (market forces etc). Keeping and adding (happy) customers in the long term is more profitable than short term gains. I'm not placing 100% blame on joymax because abusers (in my understand of them in this game) may buy gold, bot hack and scam. Taking any means of getting ahead and never consider playing the game as designed and should be fairly played. Its hard to control the problems of a community if the laws are not enforced, upheld or power given to the people.

What of the brand name, it will take a lot of work before most (legit) veterans customers have confidence (in my view). New users? hard for them to even try and join in and still learning about joymax's ways, lack of action for (real) players. As for abusers of the game, they seem to have free rain to hack, scam, bot (for profit, levels, items) and enjoy the freedom to do so.

Going on the company actions are they just milking the cow ?
