I dont know about you guys, but when I think back at when I started sro ~
I kinda hesitated to buy a Gold Ticket. It meant paying money for a free game. I did buy 2 of them though, over a period of 5 months lol
I remember not many people I knew would buy a GT
now all that was back at 70 cap, 2006
A GT for 130 silk was like $13 already

then server traffic started to get bad
worse in 2007, release of 80cap
premiums were released - 200 silk for something similar to the old GT
they were kinda needed if you wanted to play simply because of the traffic. Of course there was the alternative option to buy a silver premium for a price of nearly a GT, which I would use later on just to be able to login

Looking at this ~ I see an increase in gaming costs.
Just to play the game, and be successful (in my opinion) those premiums were needed.

Not to mention the costs to re-activate the pet every month, the game costs more than other pay to play online games.

I still liked the game though.

Then in 2008 we got this premium plus ...
Of course many people would buy it, the sp reward is insane, and no other ticket allows to have 5 hours of exp increase everyday.
but 290 silk + the pet ~.~ .. thats twice the price (a month) of other pay to play online games (that have a proper customer support)

now there are so many people who would use prem+!
the dmg% increase and absorption as well as the other stats are a huge bonus

-> further gaming cost increase

At the moment, server traffic is nice :) Which makes me wait till I activate a new ticket.. BUT! I know soooo many people will still use that premium plus simply because of the huge advantages it gives even though there is no real traffic (hehe Joymax has a clever plan eh?)

Now here is what I wonder about:

suppose Joymax would release another new premium ticket
like... 5 hours 150% exp increase and 15% dmg increase and absorption etc. etc.

make it 490 silk

would you people still buy it? I have a feeling many people would
and Silkroad becomes more and more a game in which the people who spend the most cash will be(are actually) the strongest

tell me what you think^^

It all depends on how much money someone earns. If i like something enough i would pay $50 a month for it. I pay $60 a month for the internet because i like it. I pay $30 per month for my phone bill because i enjoy talking to people. I spend probably $120-150 a month on cds/dvds/anime because i enjoy them. To me money isn't a problem, thats why i work right?

So if i really wanted that ticket i would have no problem buying it. Though in all reality i wouldn't buy it because:

A. In all reality i just dont play anymore, even venus couldnt bring back the old sro passion
B. Even if i did play i dont have the free time for 5 hours of grinding per day.
C. Why do i need 150% exp increase? When i played sro i was never in a rush to level up, i took my time and enjoyed it along the way. Exp tickets just meant you got less gold per level, i didnt like them >.>

My main issue is still the amount of SP I get, so unless there is another improvement in the SP department I doubt I'm interested. I just weigh the pros and cons of each item, and decide accordingly. I do agree with the OP on one thing though: it does seem like iSRO is more and more a game for those who can afford it. It's quite hard to defeat someone with all the premium/avatar/scroll bonuses if you don't have such bonuses yourself.

People will buy whatever their little addicted hands can get. If they had a ticket that gave them 500% exp for 10 hours a day for $100+++ people would buy it.......mostly botters as you see 10 hours a day is close to impossible for people that have a job/school...unless they are dropouts living in their moms basement.
