(I've only done a quick seach om SRF, my apologies if it's old news.)

Not much new for most of us, still nice to see more general public MMO-related websites getting aware of this.
Also quite amazing that it took only 3 users answers for first signs of flamewar to show up. Or should I say, quite appalling that the very first response somehow defends the use of bots.

Anyway, I thought I'd share that one (hopefully).

Good article & response posts.

I don't really have much else to say... other than I hope JM keeps doing the bot bans just so there are less goldbots, and more "real" people on the server xD

(by real, I mean player bots, and legits. At least player bots are on some part of the time and can actually have a conversation with you.)

he should've addressed player bots more than gold bots. both are very big problems in sro.

That is the elephant in the room no one will address. Gold bots are run by and mainly to supply player bots. You ban the gold bots you only slow the player bot down a little. You ban the player bot hell even if you leave the gold bots the player will be massively crippled. If a beast has infinite arms you can lop em off all day and never get anywhere. Whack it's head off and all the arms die too. That alone should tell you joymax is not serious.

I think that article gave too much credit to Joymax, Joymax hasn't "tried" to get rid of bots, and nothin has gotten better(except maybe being able to log in) if there was any real effort bots wouldn't be capped and farmed and globaling about how they bot, not only gold bots would be getting banned(oh sorry, 99% goldbots?).

Banning just gold bots may be good of course, but its not the only thing that should be done, if player bots were actually getting banned losing their shit, the whole game would be a lot better. I've Heard so many times "its a bot game, everyone in the game bots, ect" so more and more do it, meh.
